i'm going to the nurbourgring for the second time in 3 weeks.

Last time as far as we were aware we didn't come across any derestricted autobahn.

Is there a route from calis to nurbourg that passes down some derestricted autobahn?

What sign will you see to tell you it's derestricted autobahn?

thanks in advance

Thats the one smile

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Autobahn - does this mean that even when it has a sign saying 130Km/h that this is just an advised speed?

Thanks

my favourite part where I tried to max out the z3m coupe http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_8dMjpQM1d4 is the 555 between Koeln (Cologne) and Bonn. Entering Germany stay on the A4 towards Cologne, then take the 555 towards Bonn - 18 km long, 3+1 lanes, the autobahn is restricted to 130 km/h between 10pm and 6am but the rest of the time is good to go. Most of the people are aware of the speed as well - slow lane 140 km/h, middle lane 200 km/h, fast lane 240-250 km/h and are watching their mirrors. The whole thing is going to add 45 min to the trip but well worth it (a short section of the A4 after the border is unrestricted as well - however too much traffic and poor surface so won't try anything above 220-230 there)

i'm suprised you can go fast during the day but not at night. Wouldn't be able to go much faster than the 240kmh anyway but think i'd still rather go on the 555. Is it hard to find or are those directions given the only ones i'll need?

How do you when your on the bit of road that has no speed limit during the day?

thanks for your advice and nice video! smile

they have restriction at night due to "noise polution", the best time to hit the highway would be around 6 am or 9:30 pm....hardly any traffic. pretty straight forward to get there - drive down E40 in Belgium which will become A4 in germany, pass Aachen, continue all the way till Koeln (Cologne), get on the 555 towards Bonn, once you reach Bonn change onto 565 towards Koblenz. Drive till you reach the end of 565 and continue onto a B-road called 257 which takes you straight to Adenau where the Ring is.
