Good South/Mid Wales Routes?

Hi guys, can anyone recommend some nice scenic roads that are say, no more than an hours drive from Cardiff?

Taking my girlfriend up next week and figured why shes shopping and things i could head out towards the brecons and have abit of a blast.

Just wondered how far i would have to travel to find some nice sceninc roads?

Not far at all. Get to the head of the valleys road and then over the B4560 (a few times ) and you're straight into the Brecons. Then search out the A4069.

Go up the A 470 out of Cardiff, keep going towards Brecon. Turn left to A4215 to sennybridge...... how much time you got?


Edit, thinking about it, there is a hooooooge shopping center in Cardiff with lots of shiny things in them. So you could have plenty of time.
