I enjoy working on my cars as much as driving them (probably why I've stuck with BL and Fiats over the years).

Liquid Knight said: Christ, what a heap! No news I'm afraid, a bit of interest though. Rear passenger side wheel bearing needs replacing so I took my Rover up to uni with me. I decided that 200 miles on a knackered bearing was a bad idea. Need to ring up and get quotes now, does anybody have any idea wheel bearings cost? I've never had to replace one.

Oh right, I was told my someone that you needed some special tools to do it. I might give it a go when I'm next at home then.

So even after asking my Mother politely numerous times, the car hasn't moved since I left. It may have one out once, I can't remember. I was slightly annoyed about this as I was promised that it would be driven weekly to keep things in good shape. I asked less politely for the car to be moved and driven to be told the news that it won't start. Bloody great.
Even being jump started apparently the engine hardly cranks at all, it just turns very slowly I have been told. This is all the info I have to go on sadly, but does anyone have any ideas on what this could be?
Really annoyed about this because the only reason it hasn't been driven was because the elders (Mother and step-dad) didn't agree with me buying the car so they have just let it sit there and break.

My Mini has sat on its arse for the last month, stop making a big deal out of it and get over home and fix it

It's nearly the weekend so you can work on the car while your Mum does the washing.

You've still got your trusty Rover I assume? I'm looking forward to tinkering with my Mini during April and May before I sell up.

Last time it was sat up for around 2 months when I lost the keys. Jump leads teamed to my Rover and a little patience solved that one. I will just have a lot to do when I get home! pingu393 said: I was clearing out some of my Dad's stuff and found (and threw out) some Allegro wheel bearings . But I've kept these (no idea why)... Oooh, do these have the VDP in them? Being somewhat younger than the car, I don't know whether the VDP was sold as an Austin or a Vanden Plas.

I can't remember if the VP was a 1500 or a 1750. These handbooks are for the 1500. One is 4th edition (1976), the other is 7th edition (1977).
