In which case you need your head examining, you can source a rough, but complete and running 250GTE/330 America for less.
Yeah i know, i'm not too fussed about the penny pinching, more interested in just having a crack at restoring my first car. Edited by AndrewW-G on Sunday 12th June 14:43

How original is it going to be?
Will you be sourcing ferrari parts (oem or otherwise) or will you be modernising slightly underneath? (modern brakes etc)
Other than the shell, how much ferrari will you have at the end?
don't worry, I'm not a ferrari fan boy that's going to bash you if you use the wrong colour piping on the leather, just curious
It's gonna be 100% original, a proper nut and bolt job. Will you be sourcing ferrari parts (oem or otherwise) or will you be modernising slightly underneath? (modern brakes etc)

The only thing i'm gonna change is the colour, i'm changing it to black with creme leather, oh and i'm gonna flip it to right hand drive.

Awesome find mate, this should be an interesting thread
Cheers Playo, it's gonna be a long timely thread though haha. I was thinking about putting some of my previous cars on here but didn't want to look like a poser. My 997 C4 Cab
My Aston AMV8 Prodrive
My Maserati Granturismo (kind of, sent it straight back as the brakes were awful, had it less than a week)
My Ferrari 360 F1
My M Spec 6 series (manual)
My Bentley GT (1st one, i'm currently running a grey Mulliner) sorry about the pic quality.
My Porsche 986 Boxster
My Porsche 987 Miltec
My BMW E46 M3 (1st of 2, had a black one with Kiwi leather)
Some pics of my bikes, still have to find some pics of my XT 660 and my BMW 1200 GS Adventurer

Not if you fit a 330 motor and box
Hmm now this is interesting, it's a 250 engine that's bored out to a 4 ltr which i wasn't sure they did. To be honest i've been so busy recently that i've not been brushing up on my Ferrari homework. I need to pulling my finger out and jumping on it. It's my first project as i've always just bought cars, thrashed them and moved on to the next. I don't think i've ever changed oil before haha. 2manycars said:

Having restored a few of these cars professionaly, feel free to drop me a line as with the greatest of respect, you've got the cheap big bit, getting all the other bits right is going to be the difficult and very expensive bit and there are a whole host of people out there who are going to want to make a large amount of money out of you, for example the two tone stainless trim on the door cards, costs a vast amount of money if you can get origninal PF bits . . . . or you can use the trim off the side of a 57 chevy for a few hundred, which is of course where PF got it from originaly!

You cant really bore them out, you'd have to swap the liners, pistons and crank . . .so most likely a 330 motor and 5 speed box, when a GTE should be 4 speed and overdrive

Thank you so much Andrew for your help and if you don't mind then i'd like to take you up on it. I know how dear the parts are, and like i said i'm not too fused about the pennies, it's more about the enjoyment of seeing something come to life.
