Currently having front end resprayed, and looks like this:

Chosen now as the time to remove the awful private plate that haunted the car when I bought it. Back onto its original R-plate very soon. Opted for a three quarter sized front plate and clear indicators to freshen the front end up a touch. Photos soon.

Cracking cars, great way to start ownership, people will say they cost a fortune etc but it all boils down to the good old saying you llok after it then it will look after you.... Service it when it needs to and spend your money on the right areas and your onto a winner. You will have a great time im sure and thoroughly enjoy it..

Gorgeous, by far the sexiest TVR ever.

Love it! Looks great much better than the facelift model. cloud9

I share your dream of one day owning a Cerbera. I also saw "that clarkson video" age 5/6. However as that video is circa 1995 according to youtube that makes you a very young man... and I'm just finishing up at uni! Jealous.

Lovely. They have a great sound track plus they are the only car that looks good in yellow (well for me anyway !).

I love these, I much prefer the earlier headlights, those wheels are spot on and its one of the best colour combinations as well.

Biggest thing putting me off buying one, is I have read that the chassis can rust quite badly, its a shame you cant buy a galvanised chassis like the replacement Lotus Elan chassis.
Whats the chassis like on yours?

Hi Scotty, just read your thread, thats what I meant and has reminded me why Im not going to buy one, however much I love them! Spent too long under old Lotus plus2s in the past.

Can you really get all the rust sorted with out taking the body off, I would have thought it would be at its worst on top of the tubes between the chassis and the Body?

The out riggers that run along sills are the worst bits but i will do a body lift in a few years once they show signs of really letting go. seem solid so far and i can lift the car on them with no issues at all. Plus it's used as a good weather car so wont see much water or salt.

They seem not bad for now, The centre of the chassis is still like new as the crap does not seem to get up there.

Don't Blame you this is the second TVR i have done this too, getting a bit board of it now lol. This is a long term keeper as i think it will be worth a bit in years to come they are getting very rare now even for all its little niggles i really love driving it and it is very easy to work on next to modern cars.

OP - how viable are the back seats for kids - or are they just additional luggage carriers?
I love them, but the OH insists on something with 4x seats so the kids can come too frown

I love these. Some of its design cues were very progressive for the age.

Scotty, I'm 99.9 percent certain the car is running 35 profile tyres. I'll double check tonight when I get home.

In answer to the question about rear seats, they're really just extra luggage space. Children up to 5 should be ok in there, and I have had a 6 footer in the back, albeit only for a couple of minutes. There is more space behind the passenger due to the layout of the dash.

Scott, I checked the tyres today. I'm running 225/35/18s on the front and 245/35/18s on the rear. I do recall a receipt in the folder from a few years ago about 40 profile tyres though, so you must be able to get hold of them.

Buy one! The build quality probably won't be what you're used to, but boy oh boy the engine and soundtrack make up for that! Virtually every passenger has left the car shaking, and that's not even through driving it hard. Its just an all-out attack on the senses, truly wonderful.
Yes - do it, just bought one a week ago, started by budgeting £2.5k per year on servicing/repairs which should be plenty.

You'll be grinning permanently, and walking around with a lob-on for the rest of your life. And you'll find yourself looking out of the window if you leave it parked on the drive, or sneaking a look into the garage just to check it hasn't lost is beautiful sexy shape. Curved like a woman with perfect hourglass figure. Mmmmmmmm.....
