After several "what car" threads on here, I thought I would post up my new motor smile

It is a 1998 Ford Mondeo ST24 2.5 V6, 104,000 miles and loads of new parts! Came with lots of bits too, and it is in great nick!

Bad bits - needs the rear arches rubbed down and touched up, but they are salvageable. Could do with the IMRC being re-soldered, but even without it it still shifts. And the bonnet has been sprayed cheaply at some point, which is good because there are no chips and no rust, but bad because it doesn't quite match. Can easy sort that though smile

I am delighted with it, and I would like to hear your comments on it smile

And it only cost me £800!

Nice car, those Ford V6s make a pleasant noise. Should be in Reader's Cars though. wink

Is there really any point in blanking them? I just do it because I see some other folk do it...

Oh, and does anyone have any idea what this is for?

It has a wire coming from it, but I have no idea where it goes! Any suggestions? smile

Don't worry, it is going to stay the way it is!

Looks like it has the RSAP and that is more than enough for me smile

Only mods that will be done will be in the power department wink

Will do!

First job is to kill the rust on the rear arches, will probably just rub them down and paint them for now. Might replace them later on once the rest of the car is how I want it smile

Also planning on throughly cleaning the underside of the car and undersealing it properly.

Then, I will rope my mechanic mates in to giving me a hand doing this IMCR thing.

After that... Maybe ST200 inlets and cams? Who knows smile

I don't know much about Fords, but is rust on Mondeos of this age a problem? I regularly see a similarly aged Mondeo in an industrial estate with arches so rusty it's almost comical.
