A great read, well done rescuingit..the first time I've noticed your thread. Makes me want another 900 Turbo. Never owned a Carlson, they look amazing with the deep dish 16s

So had a chance to get some niggling jobs done on the car this week.

-Sunroof is finally back in properly with the new clip installed! Thanks Alwyn if you are reading this.
-Investigated and hopefully cured boot leak.
-New front pads
-New flexible rear brake hoses
-Repolished and sealed my 9000 Carlsson alloys ready for another summer's service
-Wire brushed, de greased and painted boot floor inside as it was looking pretty grotty

Shiny Wheels

Nice work, boot floor does tend to go frown

Where was the leak in the boot? I need to chase down some leaks in mine. I think water was getting in somewhere which made the rear arches rot from the inside out. Also I'm getting leaks in the driver's footwell - either door seals or windscreen I think...

have a look at this NCoT:

http://www.uksaabs.eu/UKS/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=...

My fuel filler neck was cracked when it was replaced after welding from overtightenting of the torx screws. I've put some silicone sealant around it and hope that will help as apparently that is an ingress point. also discovered a small split in the tailgate seal which ive taped up and also adjusted the tailgate. Will see if that gets it...

laugh I started that thread! Still haven't had a chance to look at the car frown Driving holiday in N Wales last August - car cover on every night and also while we went up Snowdon in the public car park (got some funny looks!); ECU in a poly bag with paper towels wedged above it, and some dodgy misfires... eek

Still ongoing niggles with the car - had the rear caliper stick and almost catch fire! It was a new one that i replaced as well so not happy.

On the whole though she's looking purdy:

Looking fab mate.

Mine's still under a cover - only mileage in the last year was to the MOT and a PH meet frown

No time to work on it.

Thats a lovely car. Real retro classic. Good work. Keeping on top of rust is a nightmare on any rust prone car.

So this is probably due a bit of an update!

For those of you who peruse SP&L you may have noticed my poor car had a bit of a run in with a bin lorry a few weeks ago. link below. Luckily they've now admitted liability so can get on with getting it sorted out.

http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

This has all come at the worst possible time as I was in the middle of doing a bit of a refresh on the whole car ready for summer and have a million and one other things going on at the moment too. The last year or so since I last updated has basically been a year and a half of trouble free motoring but the suspension has been pretty tired for a while now which was causing the exhaust to drag on the monsterous speed bumps around Bristol tearing it pretty badly. also needs some welding to get it through MOT this year. I'll do a full write up When I get a minute but I cannot believe how much a set of dampers has transformed how the car feels in the bends. Wish I had done it years ago. It's like driving a brand new car (albeit way too firm).

Pics below:

Parked outside its new home with my replacement weekend toy, Triumph Daytona 675.

Moved into my new garage that I did up last summer. So good to have a decent space to work in now.

So fair to say exhaust was pretty shot. been constant construction near where I work for the past year and there's mud and salt everywhere which has really accelerated the corrosion this year frown

Out with the old, in with the new.

Also fitted a new jt but not got any pics of this as of yet.

It's going off to jamsaab to have some welding done and have the bumper fixed from the bin lorry incident, after that roll on summer.

Some more gratuitous pics. Just remembered I fitted a bridge of weir leather interior and also got a decent aux gauge set both at bargain prices.

Good birthday cake last year too haha!
