Any chance we can get my VHPD to give a reliable 500bhp? Can't be that difficult, surely?

I don't know why anybody bothers with the K20a 'upgrade' when you can just bolt a supercharger straight onto a VHPD and achieve 500bhp with an Emerald and a rolling road session. idea

Any idea when the car will be road-ready? My last Honda experience was an SC CC conversion in an S2 135R and it was frighteningly accelerative. I shudder to think how brutal this will be.

Lol, I don't know of many forced induction k series that end well. A bloke on the GTM forum had a rotrex blown k series all professionally installed with different internals, special head gasket etc and only ran it up to 230hp as he didn't want to sacrifice reliability. It still blew 2 head gaskets in the first 1000 or so miles, he ripped it out and dropped in? Yep you guessed it. A k20a.

A genuine 500bhp K series? er, nope, not without a LOT of work. The block/head mechanical system is just not strong enough to withstand the BMEP required for 500bhp. So to get 500bhp your gonna have to rev it to about 12krpm at low BMEP. Do-able yes, cheapy, er no!

Phew I guess the entire grid of production cars in the lotus cup/on track championships are all lucky that they are only allowed to run 151hp at the hubs even though they are 160bhp + at the fly.
