This project is still on-going!!

Darren has managed to find some time to design the carbon air box, hopefully he can find some time to make the mould.

After a visit to caffeine and machine Darren is reinvigorated to get this project finished! Seeing cars in finished states brought home how we need to get this finished, not getting any younger! As soon as the wing brackets are done the bodywork can be final fitted and it can go off to get a full motec install, will definitely be running for next years TD season.

Darren likes nothing more than taking people out in it.

Wing brackets are done, the bodywork can now be fully fitted, spending a weekend with darren later in the month to get the car back together as much as possibe, it's booked in to be rewired over winter so it's almost sure to be ready for next year

Managed to get another weekend working on the Exige, needs to be at a point to go for the electronics install and rewire by the end of december!

After discussion with the guy doing the Motec install it's been decided to fit a brake bias bar and individual reservoirs with sensors so we can log frant and rear brake pressures, so out came the pedal box, i hadn't planned on this so it feels like a step backwards!

We are lucky enough to have access to someone with a 3D scanner very close by so he was tasked with scanning the side pods and rads so Darren can make up some bespoke intakes to the inside of the clam for maximum airflow. He also scanned the front wings as Darren has always wanted to change to slots in the top to bespoke carbon setup mounted underneath.

The biggest job achieved over the weekend, Darren managed to free up some machine time to make the billet CC, it's just tacked up at the moment so he can get the pipework made up for the Bosch motorsport DBW throttle body.

And finally he's designed a mount for the 15 button keypad for the Motec, this will also house the buttons for the lifeline system and the electrical cutout, will be mounted off the roll cage between the driver and passenger, makes it much easier to reach when harnessed in, was impossible to reach for the driver before as they were mounted on the dash in front of the passenger.

Still a mountain to climb yet but as long as darren can get stuff mounted and in position then it will be wired by the end of Feb, hopefully then all that is left is assembly of parts.

Well Darren has certainly been busy!
Rad ducts all modelled up already, that 3D scanner certainly saves some time.

So hats off to darren at Alitech, he's put a lot of time, effort and machine time into this but the airbox is finally done!

Also the mount for the Motec keypad is done, just needs to be anodised....

A very big step towards getting this finally on the road again, new bespoke loom is ready, the spliced many times OE loom really was a mess! Compare it to the new one, must be some weight saved too.

Another piece of the puzzle is complete....

'just' waiting on the exhaust to be modified slightly, a new bracket for the S/C, the carbon airbox to be remade then a good couple of weekends to refit things like the pedal box and brakes and it could be mapped! smile

So 2 more pieces of the puzzle are complete, the 3D printed bucks for the air duct feeds for the side pod mounted coolers are done, but the star of the show is the airbox, a work of art!!

Spending the weekend with Darren getting some more work done on the car, fitted the pedal box back in and also added a remote adjuster for the bias bar, will be mounted just to right of the steering wheel where the light switches were. The carbon ducts have turned out beautifully smile

Lots achieved this weekend, front splitter back on along with the side skirts, bladed ARB from cornering force, didn't get time to mount the rear one. The carbon airbox has been trimmed and is now mounted, great work by Darren and Ben at Alitech.

still a lot to do, but custom alternator case is pretty much there. just got to design the new supercharger bracket and take a ton of weight out of the main mounting brkt. this is to use a wosp lms300 alternator in our cutom case. smaller, lighter, and gains us about 50mm space off the bulkhead.

Getting really close to a working car now! Custom billet alternator cage all done, new SC bracket all finished, billet charge cooler with two Audi rad cores in, just the small matter of a few finishing jobs/wiring etc and it could be mapped and running by the end of June!

Need to make a really tight bend off the supercharger as the boost pipe was always too close to the front of the engine and gets in the way of the dipstick. Drew up this billet 50-63mm bend which will make a bit of space when welded directly to the supercharger snail.
Currently running in a machine overnight

Done!

Custom water manifold for the Charge Cooler...

Ben doing his thing with the 3D scanner to make a surround for the Motec dash to fit the OE shroud...

Finally got around to fitting the rear ARB, pig of a job with the engine in!

Darren managed to get the pipework made up, just tacked for now, will get the guy at TTS who can weld to finish up for us.
