This is fast becoming one of my absolute favourite projects ever. Looks so purposeful without being OTT.
The world needs more dark green fast cars.

I loved this build until the canards :'( I think they ruin the look of cars and would love to see how they effect down force and drag. If you want it have the 'because race car look' great, otherwise is there really any point. Are you planning on using the car for any form of motorsport? There is already one lotus ruined by stupid unproven aero on this forum please don't let this one take the same route! I hate to be so negative though as I love the rotrex k20 exige combo and would love to build something similar myself one day! Its also a great build thread I've enjoyed reading!

No offence taken, I don't like them either! But they will be functional, planning on doing spa at some point and we will easily hit the limiter in top.
I have insisted they be removeable for road use though.

Great work and good to see the car coming along! Couple of questions though:

Is that pace Charge Cooler going to be up to the task of keeping intake temps down?

How come the wing pylons step out?

Wing brackets are offset for the simple reason that the brackets on the wing do not line up with the chassis on the car. If strength is your concern then don't worry, even without the cross brace fitted I can hang off the top of just one bracket and it hardly moves, and im 95kg. with the cross brace fitted and the wing in place I would estimate that these brackets can safely handle in excess of 300kg no problem at all.

As for the charge cooler....Pace????? please don't swear at me tongue out Its actually a pro alloy unit, I am in the process of extensive testing to improve the unit. The main charge cooler is not the issue and tests have shown that it could not really be improved upon. The issue is the pre rad up front not being big enough to cool the water in the system. Hence we are in the middle of fitting 2 additional rads in the front wings to run in series along with the standard central rad. Have lots and lots of data from our 8 channel logger from before, will test again when the new rads are in. But I expect this to fix the issue as I have a fair amount of experience doing this on high powered sc cars and we have seen similar issues on RS4's and R8's and managed to fix them successfully smile

Sorry! it just looked like the pace unit. smile

Sounds like the additional heat exchanges will help. Its often a issue with water to air systems i have seen. Look forward to seeing the results.

Chris.
