Nice looking car, how about painting the wheels like this;

Love it personally ;-)
Nice car there, still unsure what colour to do the wheel centres when I get them refurbed, think will either be silver or black, the black wheels suit your car well smile

Cars going to garage next week to get a mid pipe made for it, so should have a more sporty sounding exhaust next week biggrin

what does an 'S-Special II' have over a 'standard' car?
Montego Blue Metallic / Brilliant Black / Classic red / Chaste white
Bilstein dampers
15" BBS alloys
Rear spoiler
Thicker anti-roll bars
Front strut brace

The earlier ones had the Mazda Sensory Sound System (MSSS) with the 'bodysonic transducers' & headrest speakers but I think MSSS was phased out and wasn't available on late Mk1s.

I'm not sure if the steering wheel is original or not. They did start fitting airbags at the very end of Mk1 production so I guess it must be.

When I last had a Mk1, KYB AGX dampers were all the rage - have they fallen out of fashion now or were these particular ones knackered?

Cheers for the info, KYB's were good when they were on the car just wanted some coilovers so I could adjust the ride height smile

Really pleased with how my new exhaust sounds, although I think i'll be using more fuel now smile

Got round to taking a few pics today

Straight Through pipe:

Work was done by DSB Mechanical Services near Billingshurst, really helpful and resonably priced, anyone needing custom exhaust work in the area should check them out, they also work on Ginnetta race cars so know what there doing.

Got them making me a De-cat pipe for it now biggrin

Just a small update, done a few bits to the interior to make it a bit more interesting.

Brought a Carbon wrapped Console Lid and Ashtray.

and fitted a Momo Race gearknob and some chrome heater vent covers -

I had my own one of these in the very same specification and only sold it 4 weeks ago - I still miss it now! But needed something more practical.

I'll put some pics up give you something to 'aspire' too tongue out

I had a Mazdaspeed bolt-in jobby, it provokes a lot of controversy over whether it's a roll-bar or a style-bar, because there were two variants. It was very strong however and stiffened the car up a little more together with the factory brace bar (both fitted together nicely without modification)

Eventually it got a vented headlight lid and ducktail boot spoiler, ran on Gaz Gold Pro suspension and I fitted some decent rubber to it. Easily the best car I've owned and can't recommend them enough to people I have met. I would also wave you in the direction of mx5nutz forum if you're not already on there.

Cool car and cool mods. However have you thought of maybe a heat shield on the intake ?, the filter is really really close to the engine , must be a little toasty .

Sills now all done and looking really good biggrin

Also why they had it asked them to remove the rear spoiler as was starting to crack at the edges, and I prefer how it looks without it

Got a few more things planned to do over the winter:

- Underseal the car
- Re-paint ARB's
- Fit Heatshield to Induction Kit
- Fit new Brakes & paint Calipers
- Get Wheels Refurbed

Was also thinking of de-badging the rear now the spoilers gone, quick Photoshop of how it would look

Think it looks alot better without the badges in my opinion

Probably other things to do over the winter that I cant remember smile
