Very Nice cars. I bet you very pleased with your achievement.

Do you mind me asking what vessels you work on?
Not at all, I work on Ro/Ro ferries, been on the Anvil Point for a couple of years now

We're all wanting to know how it compares to the C1.
No real comparison, the C1 was a far better car... for parking at least. Actually miss the C1 from time to time, though having driven the parents' IQ I realise just how slow it was.

Photo of the interior today having cleaned the bird st off the car. Phone photo so not the greatest.

The interior is closer to red than the picture shows, looks almost purple in that photo. Passed 26k miles the other day

First service done (6 year one) at eyewatering cost but the car was fine other than a minor power steering fluid leak that was sorted under warranty.

Courtesy car was a touch slow however

Cheers gents, I'm hoping all the snow I've heard about on my facebook feed will be gone by the time I get home!

A year on.

Averaging 15.7mpg, as a daily it's not ideal hehe

It's had a new rear light and a new tracking system fitted (tracker done under warranty)

Still love it, purchase of a house may mean it has to go but I should be able to afford it okay...time will tell. Tempted to buy a load lugged to run alongside.

It's just had a week of driving in the countryside of Yorkshire so I'll upload a few photos later on tonight

The Aston Martin looks and sounds a bit special, my realistic dream car!
Think it would feel a bit slower than a Chim mind! If you do go for a 4.3, it's worth going for a late one as they have the better seats.

I've come full circle and bought another Citroen C1.

It's on order so here are some shots of the car from the configurator. Putting more and more miles on the Aston, the Citroen is going to ease the load on it somewhat.

The AMV8's interior is lovely mate! Love a nice deep red, my dad's got a 4.7 and the one thing I'm not so keen on is the black interior. Just doesn't look special enough somehow
The 4.7 does have an improved interior though!

I've never been a fan of black interiors (despite the new C1 and the 6 series having them) so the iron ore red on the V8 was a huge selling point for me.

I keep looking for the next car but a lot of the German cars I'm considering are black or grey inside frown

It was new car day today so it was time to say goodbye to the Aston Martin. 2 years and 3 months of ownership, so far the longest I've ever had a car!

I didn't know what to replace it with initially, I looked at Bentley Continentals, Lotus Evoras, M3s, C63s etc until I finally decided on a Jaguar XJ Supersport. Over 500bhp from a car with more gadgets than I know what to do with. Only had it 16 hours so not had the chance to take too many photos yet.

I'm sure people will see me in it and think that it's my dad's car hehe

I love it though, impressed with everything (though the touch screen isn't as slick as the C1)

It's a big old bus, think it'll take a while to get used to parking it

I've been playing about quite a bit now in the big Jag, it's turning out to be more economical than the Vantage it's replaced (not that I care)

I quite enjoy driving it in manual mode, if set to sport and dynamic it'll hold the gear regardless of whether you hit the limiter. It will change down though if you forget you're in manual and slow down for a roundabout hehe

Poor C1 hasn't been used... It's taking me and the Mrs for a meal tonight though

This is why I love working away aswell! Would not dream of being able to run my rs6 day to day working on shore, been qualified as a 3rd engineer for a year now on a standby/supply vessel and the only bad part is lots of time while I am away to research on what car to get next!!
yes

Would not fancy commuting in any of my last cars, bar the C1 really hehe

So, so jelly.

Some decisions are hard to make, like which supercar to tick off the list next!
Good to see the Lomax is still goin!

Used the superbarge today to take the grandparents shopping. They love it, not sure what it says about the car...

Looking good James. Just bought a CLA myself, albeit a 2015 pre-facelift with the 1.6 engine. It's the slowest thing I've ever driven so I'm hoping yours has more poke ha
It's the CLA 180 this, which is the Renault 1.3 turbo with about 130bhp so it's not exactly quick, but the 7 speed gearbox is far better than the automatic that was in her Fiesta. It feels decent until you push it hard, then it just makes more noise I think hehe

It's only on a lease deal mind, so just has to last three years
