The air mas has a mesh over it and she will be getting some fine mesh materiaal over the front or in the pipe, that will be good enough to stop any damaging st getting in, although Mike may choose to buy her a nice carbon filter, the options are there for him to choose.

a simple 90mm in / out carbon filter woul do the job perfect,

well the Datsun has been collected by its owner Mike, who seems rather pleased after a quick test drive, now the roads are a bit drier we could give it a bit and it seems to go very well indeed and we found some grip too.

i feel a bit sad really, she has been part of my life and had its place in my workshop for the past 6 months, so im a bit sad to see it go, although im sure it will be back soon for stage 3.

Stage 2 is to get the body work sorted and painted, followed by getting some new suspension, brakes, wheel and tyres all sorted, so lots of measurements to be taken and calculations to be done, once Mike has had all this sorted and has boxs of new parts it will be back for its final build (stage 3) before going on track, then hopfully it will have suspension and brakes to perfome like the engine does.

Think it will get big 6 pot brakes up front, poss AP racing but Ksport are an option Mikle is looking at, and maybe 2 or 4 pots on rear, wheels we think will be 17" or 18" Team dynamics, suspesnion Gaz coilovers custom made with big front inserts. Front tack control arms will be rose jointed adjustable arms, custom made along with custom made tension struts again fully adjustable, this way the front end will have adjustable castor, camber amd track. we have talked today about the diff, think it will need to go away and have an LSD unit installed too and of corse there are all the bushes to change to poly ones.

so pleanty for Mike to sort out over the next few months.

A bit of an update on progress. After a bit of messing around having custom parts made for the suspension and brakes, the car is now rolling again and is almost ready for paint. I'll get exact details but the suspension came from a 280ZX race car and the brakes are APs.

Thanks for the comments (on behalf of my mate!). Should be ready for track action soon.

A few stickers added plus some massively wide new rear wheels, shod with ex Porsche Cup slicks.
