My Aerodeck Vti - What are peoples opinions
Discussion
I always had a hankering for the EG9 Civic Vti, after I took one down to Chiswick to fit a thatcham immobilizer on a Honda training course.
I had that thing wound right up, cant remember how fast but was certainly north of 120..
I always felt the UK built Civics were the poor relation. No offence, but the styling wasnt quite so neat as the outgoing model. Still, I did look for a while for an Aerodeck Vti but never found one that was the right car.
Ive got my CL9 Accord and CRX so another one would be greedy.....

SLight update. I managed to source a set of Accord type r recaros for a great price (£175) and really local to me. Thus saving alot on postage. ALthough I also managed to source a set of recaro sub-frames specific for my car I still had to modify them a little to get them to fit. That was a bit of saga but all forgotten now :
Seats are very very supportive , its almost like a different car in the corners as you do not roll out of your seat. Position wise its alot lower down so your legs are more straight out and head nowhere near the roof anymore.
Also sprayed the rear chrome strip to make that a little less tacky, looks easy but in fact to remove it was a PITA :
Bearing in mind I had to re-spray the entire number plate trim section too I am pretty pleased with it. The paint I bought was a good match in the end and as it was plastic it went on pretty easy. The badges and trim and new number plate really smartn up the back I reckon. Not sure wether I should remove the tow bar or not , I like the sleeper look !!.

Read the OP introduction with interest and checked the word "cack": -
cack
(slang) faeces (feces); nonsense or rubbish: "what a load of cack" could equally be used to describe someone talking nonsense or as a criticism of something of poor quality. Also spelt "kak" as used in South Africa. Derived from an ancient Indo-European word, kakkos, cognate with German word Kacke, Welsh word "cach" and the Irish Gaelic word "cac" which means 'st'
To misquote, one man's "cack" is another man's poison I guess?

A couple more mods recently . Went for a bespoke cat-back stainless exhaust. Nice sound, not loud and looks alot better.
Fitted the integra type r air box , as rumour has it this is better than most induction kits for this engine, Manufactured a bracket to ensure perfect fitment and had to tap a new thread into sill where the old box was :
Hers a few pics :
Very good mod for power and noise.
After a rumbly/rattly noise at the rear of the car over bumpy roads , I (and mechanic) finally tracked down that the rear shocks were basically knackered. Very annoyed after only a year. Although this gave me opportunity to source a set of ZS180 shocks. These were fitted a couple of days ago and have made all the difference. Lower, stiffer and ride a lot better.
Quick side comparison . Very dirty at the moment :

Liking that a lot, thought it was going to be an accord, never knew there was a civic estate. What would you compare it to, size wise? astra estate? focus estate?
Body size, yes. Room, no. Great car, but very little room in the boot. Saying that, I've managed for two years with one as a family car for the last 2 and a bit years.Yes it hasn't really got a big boot nor a lot of space in the rear. I just liked the look of the estate and it does come in handy for larger objects. We use it for holidays and with a dog guard or net you can pile quite a lot of stuff in the boot. I don't have need yet for a massive estate , just the one kid.
