Glad your enjoying it, must have been the test drive that sold it to you wink

To quote Ford " it may be your car but it's my baby" look after it.

Hoping for some good weather this weekend so I can show this off to a few of my friends who have some petrol in their veins. I've not driven it all since last weekend as I've been away from home. If they really dont like it I'm getting new friends.

How much did this go for?

I always said to myself I would be standing in line if it ever came up for sale.

I'll let you know if I get bored of it or lose my testicles.

The Semi slicks are off and the Dunlop Sport Maxx are on. You can easily fit all 4 in the boot with the seats down.

Sorely tempted to do this to my e46 ti instead of buying an m3.

It's a brute. It pulls at any revs at any speed. It shakes bangs pops and thunders. I'm scared of it. You just can't really open it up on public roads. The real fun starts in 3rd which runs out of puff at about 80. 4th is just as serious. It's relentless. I don't really want to start comparing it to an m3. They're totally different cars. BMW would never make this car. It just makes no sense.

Been out exploring for good roads over the weekend. Been up Saddleworth which was a bit foggy. Also looking round the Snake and Woodhead. Car performed faultlessly. The guy at my local Shell must be wandering why I keep appearing.

It's a hemi though, so I'm guessing it isn't just going to mount up and run off the existing harness. I think you'd be better off with a crate LS3.

I'll be honest. I didn't realise there is a difference. I just searched ebay for chevy and this popped up. Sounds cheap too for 650bhp.

I think it is pretty cheap, but Hemis are from the Mopar world, i.e. Chrysler, Dodge and Plymouth. If it were me, I'd get a crate LS3 and a cam:

Pah....

Look up United Racing Engines. They will build you a 572 cu.in. Chevy crate motor that makes 800bhp on crappy American pump fuel - or 1100bhp if you tick the option or a supercharger rotate

That will be an iron big-block (on carburettors) that probably weighs more than the BMW, though. smile

Good luck getting that under the bonnet....

If you want more power and you aren't just 'internet-dreaming' then get a standard crate LS3 from PWP and put the right cam in it. I think you'll find 520-odd horses and peak power at 6800rpm a little different than what you have now, and quite sufficient wink

While you are at it, change the gearbox as well; the T56 is a nasty old thing.

Nice car though; I drove it and was very impressed at how 'OEM' it felt. You could ruin that by going too far. I'd change the diff for something with sensible ratios and get a TR6060 gearbox in there, then see how you feel about the engine later. Like most LS conversions, its geared too short.

I do find the gearing a bit short. My 986 and 997 could just about hit 100 in 3rd. The BMW is nowhere near that. 1st is pretty useless but pulling off in 2nd just doesn't feel right from a mechanical sympathy point of view.

Right now I'm trying to get some proper buckets in and then I'll be ripping out the rest of the interior. I'm also playing around with some wider alloys to see if I can get wider rubber on there. I think I'm going to need some arch mods to go seriously wide.
