Still a bonkers car
BMW rear discs with drill holes?
Standard M3 discs. They incorporate the handbrake within. Changing to a 2 piece could mean no handbrake - Assumption as I've never seen one in the flesh.BMW rear discs with drill holes?
AP sell a 4 pot rear caliper kit which retains the original disc. These 2 pots are off a TVR or something - not sure. They clearly don't mate up that well.
Yeah you'd need a separate hand brake caliper if you had to ditch the inboard shoes.

Bought from BMW?
Yes ....TheAngryDog said:
Did you have to get them drilled afterwards?
NoThese are standard fare on the M3. They are also vented which is rare for rear discs. The vents and holes are also directional so they are sided left and right with different part numbers. They're F'ing heavy too. I paid 237 quid for the pair off eBay. Genuine BMW parts. That's a bargain really. I checked some of the part numbers and couldn't quite figure out if the CSL has different discs.

Ah cool! Shame the standard E39 M5 discs arent drilled though they're only 219 from ocean on ebay. Early purchase in January for me!
Are they vented and do they have hand brake inside like the e46?If so you could try upgrading to m3 discs. I've got my old discs if you want to try them for size etc?

New rear discs fitted and DS2500 pads.
UpdateMy car is now free from brake squeal. So the rear pads were the cause. I'm not sure what compound they were very aggressive. They ate the rear discs and threw all the molten debris on my rear alloys which are now completely ruined. I managed to get my jeans filthy by just rubbing the car slightly yesterday so decided it was time to give it a wash. It didn't take long to decide if I should get cold and wet or give 3 quid to the local europeans who seem to enjoy washing other people's cars with various forms of acid.
So the beast let me down today. I stopped to get a coffee and when I got back in the car it would only just turn over and then stopped. It's done this a couple of times but then fired up after a rest. I managed to find a local garage and a friendly mechanic who agreed to give me a jump. He said I should try a new battery and hope that fixes it. He also said my current battery looked a bit small. So I'm going to treat the beast to a new battery this weekend.
