If I'd used the standard rear diff & BMW gearbox it would be 40 kgs or so lighter, and te car had been an M3 it would have been lighter after the conversion! A mate of mine has a Z3M Coupe with an LS1 and its now lighter than the std car.

Nope that's not why it doesn't work at all mine is an ASC 01 325 coupe and the rear end I used was from an 05 M3 convertible. Have you checked with INPA to see if the car is seeing the wheel pulses? Have you disconnected the ABS module? As (sorry if I'm teaching you to suck eggs) the speedo is driven from the left rear wheels abs sensor. Are you 100% sure you have sensors plugged in correctly and are using the correct ones (there are two types).

If the ABS module is unplugged then it can't output the speed via canBus.

What happened to the original sensors from your car? Can you not try them? I can't remember the colours of the plugs (it was 2 years ago I did it) by I 100% put my original 325 sensors into the M3 rear end.

So today finally I got to fit my new AP 6 pot calipers and DS3000 brake pads, Phil from Dritworks sorted me out a deal on some performance friction 356 x 32mm discs.




Bolted them up

Got myself some new vibra technics engine mounts




I was originally going to go for their standard stiffness but they decided I'd be best with the completion stiffness, I was mildly concerned they shake my car to pieces but I needn't have worried at tick over the car feels the same as normal infact if anything it's smoother and while I've not driven it yet the engine moves much less than before when its revved which was my aim.
while I was underneath I had to pause and look at my new brakes sad I know but that's me.

Got myself some new Cades Tyrus wheels but they dont clear my brakes!






So today (well yesterday, today and a bit of tomorrow) I've made the Cades fit the front, well when I say I what I really mean is Craig has had to machine the calliper mount and wheel spacers (although he doesn't know this yet!) it sounds so simple when you type it but by the time it's all finished I'll have prob had the wheels off/on half a dozen times and the brakes even more so.






We've fitted some of the new Nankang NS2R's so I'll be interested to see how these work, I wasn't keen on the Cades centre cap so I ordered some BMW ones.






They look very chrome in the pictures but in the flesh they are less in your face but I may well have them powder coated silver in the near future.

I like them, I'm not sure I'd like them so much if the car was true every day car the sidewalls are very stiff and they tramline quite a bit but I do run quite a bit of neg camber & toe out so my car always will do that to some extent. Grip wise in the rain/damp is fine I don't feel like they are going to kill me even in heavy rain.

The rear Federal RSR's are about due for replacement & the Nankangs will be replacing them.
