I would but the amount of bumper I cut out means the original plate has to stay! Plus, its the original dealer plate so I am quite liking the originality of it but pressed metal plates keep tempting me :/

Cheers, I keep thinking about selling and getting something totally different like wackojacko's T5 but the overall package of the metro always wins me over.

Plus, tonight i annoyed some guy in a range rover down some local backroads with a grin plastered accross my face all the time so I don't think i will be getting rid unless I got some awesome offer on it I couldn't refuse....

Suppose I should really update this, been a busy couple of weeks as I got a job offer starting on the 21st but requires a 60 mile round trip each day and the only car I have is the metro so all the little jobs I wanted to get done had to get done this week!

Took some pics with a friend a couple of weeks ago down at the beach;

Then yesterday I got a couple of boxes of bits arrive so i have fitted them all up:

New engine loom to replace the mess that was in there originally:

New Cambelts and tensioner got fitted whilst the engine was in pieces:

New wheels also arrived, Compomotive MO's:

Thanks for the comments, hopefully will get some pics with my new wheels fitted soon and prob some with Ricwin's ZS180 as he lives around the corner. the pics were taken on Birkdale beach, the white 200 is Ricwin's old car.

Looking into cost of trackdays over summer with him atm and possibly trying to drag other mates down to join in as well as Oulton is only about 45 mins away.

Wow this hasn't been updated in a while!

Where to start? Since my last update the car has been off the road then missed so put on mid-winter in the middle of the snow storms(because rusty British cars love the salt) as my daily was stuck in the garage getting more warranty work done on it.

In order then, Last summer it made it down to Lands end;

Then it failed it's MOT on emissions so was taken off the road for 5 months until I got fed up of looking at the poor thing feeling sorry for herself.

Cue, new engine:

New tyres:

New Radiator and manifold:

It has a rear cage in but not mounted properly as I am not happy with where it mounts and want to replate the floors more.

and how she stands presently:

New engine is slightly better than the previous one, VVC160 with a Port and polish head, reground exhaust cam(285 grind I think) but needs a RR session for any idea on BHP.

Currently using it alongside her big sister the ZT260, depending on what takes my fancy that day!

The thread on the ZT is here: http://www.pistonheads.com/xforums/topic.asp?h=0&a...

They are both great fun but in different ways, I keep toying with the idea of going turbo with the metro but 200bhp might be a bit too extreme in something like that on the road!

Ish. Been off the road since January and have found quite a bit of welding being required so just been trying to learn to weld and cutting it up!

Knowing my luck, will prob have it on the road in time for winter snow and gritters to undo my welding hehe

It's a little bit different, a bit of retro appeal, and I bet it's good fun to drive!
