Doomsday Impala
Discussion
Now that is how a door slammer should look. I love the fact that it is a single colour with little in the way of graphics as you can really see the beauty in the lines of the car. Also it does not end up looking like a cartoon with a large rear wing etc.
Love it guys, just love it. Hope you get it fixed soon

im a bit of a geek when it comes to Photoshop.
Here's one i did and it ended up being used on the front of RPM Mag.
This is our Photo.
Heres one from last weekend, the sky is a little more apolcayptic and sunny than it actually was ha hah
this picture was taken by Blackett (and puchased).
this one is a photo by Mark Skinner, that i put into CameraBag and Photshop and changed it to a Hipstamatic style, this is on free give away flyers, 1/4 of A4 size.
If anybody wants something doing, (im not a miracle worker) but ill have a mess with it for nowt if its something cool.
Changing backgrounds is pretty easy, pictures really need to be with 10 meg pixel min camera or better.
Any smaller and you lose the definition when you muck about with em.

I think that this is the best looking doorslammer about at the moment. Having the vision and drive to go from the sad ol' girl pictured on the Californian driveway to this is what dragracing/hotrodding is all about. The Chevrolet designers that came up with the Impala shape must have had crystal balls, the way it looks from behind with tyres tucked up is just perfection (I feel like I'm cheating on the 69 Camaro when I look at it). If this was mine I'd sell my telly and put the sofa in the garage, it's simply jaw droppingly beautiful.
For those PH'ers who have no experience of dragracing and maybe think it's just one step up from banger racing. This car along with RV3 should really open your eyes. Make the effort and get yourself along to a big event where these cars are entered. You will never, never forget it.
Well done the Doomsday boys and girls. You're a credit to the sport.

yeah im with that 100%, we all love GM, im a huge fan of 66 and 67 Pontiac GTO too.
Dave had a 65 impala, it was on the front cover of Classic American,
thats what sold full size Chevrolet to me. That rear quarter line, (coke bottle as they dubbed it) is so fabulous. We have deliberately kept all the lines clean, (sure we have no sponsorship anyway, but what the hell). But again your right, we made a stencil saying "doomsday" for the whole side of the car. Our buddy Chris did about 10 test pieces and they didnt cut it. Giving a drag car a name surely helps, so we knew it was going somewhere. So the logo went samll and less obtrusive at the bottom of the door.
The styling of the car still makes me stop in my tracks, something about the late 60's that gave automotive design freedom and spirit.... Hash and LSD probably.... lol
