Great purchase. That could have been a fantastic SOTW.

So it's an SE with a bodykit and not a Sport? Hmm, weird.

You're right. The SE monicker didn't exist on E34's I've just remembered.

The kit was standard on 525i Sport and 535i Sport -you could not get a 540i Sport - so it has been added on new or retrofit
Never seen a 540 with it before

Thank-you. Having slept since first reading this thread I'd no hope of remembering your earlier post!

Great car and what value for money. I still consider the E34 to be my favourite car that I have had. Just felt so solid.

I don't think that is a genuine sport kit on yours, it looks too sculptured and doesn't have the towing eye flap on the back. Looks a bit like the BBS kit.

As for wheels - a set of 16" Alpinas would be nice. The general consensus amongst E34 owners is any bigger and suspension issues start manifesting themselves in the drive.

Get along to the BMW5 forum for any help and advice. Quite a big E34 community.

Lovely car, enjoy it.

It did.

I had an E34 520i SE on an 'M' plate. It was a 1994 model IIRC.

It had 'SE' on the V5.

Nice car. I'm just back into an e34 540i. Bought mine 3 weeks ago 1995 in black with grey leather auto. I was pleased given I only paid £550 for it that she passed the mot with no work required.
