Thought I might give this a quick update.

Simply for no other reason than I've not had one, I decided to go look at a S15 Silvia. I found a what-I-thought was a black one with cream leather (Aussie delivered).
Gave the seller a text and arranged a viewing.

Upon arrival, the car was clearly grey and fading :\ . The leather was also slightly tired and had a ciggie burn in the middle of the seat.. Though this could be recovered.
Next I found out that it'd been a factory blue as the door insides and engine bay were still blue...
Then I noticed the tail lights didn't line up at each side... I asked the seller if the car had been in an accident.. He said he thought so rolleyes

Next!!

I called another vendor re a blue Honda S2000 which looked mint in the pictures...

I'm uber keen to view / buy it.. However both my call and text message have so far been unanswered furious

I've also been on a lookout for an AE86 Trueno but my mate's, sister's BF just bought the last and only good one I can find for sale and refuses to sell cry

I'm really not keen on EVOs and STIs.. Just the 4wd factor spoils the "fun" for me... You see, the GTRs are 4WD but only ever run RWD till you start to slide, or launch it. (I was ever so close to going to go look at an EVO 7 but it was sold an hour before I was meant to go see it.)
I'm also allergic to front wheel drives "sports cars"...

Well, today I just had a track day.... without a car. :|
Money pretty much wasted as I couldn't withdraw but my mate did let me have 6 laps in his WRX which was good fun! May have converted me somewhat.. Even though it is an under-steering pig on the limit!

Prior to this, I'd been searching high and low to try and find a car in time for the day but had no success.
I went from Skylines to Silvias, EVOs to STIs and even had a brief browse of Australia muscle (HSV/FPV) but quickly talked myself out of it..

There was one silver Evo 8 MR that had a turbo upgrade that I was dead set on... till I received word that it was sold pending payment! frown
There weren't any really nice STIs on the market nor GTRs. I then found this which I checked out this morning with my dad, 2hrs before the track day, ready to buy...

Its a 1996 BMW M3. Ad says 220kms so a tad high for my liking.. but it was fairly cheap at 14.5k.
However, after a closer look, I found out it was an imported car from England with the dash currently reading 166k MILES - closer to 265kms. The A/C was also broken (convenient with today being 37degrees..) and rust underneath and on the front windscreen. The car itself drove well despite this and has new brakes.

I'm a little undecided at this stage as it'd be extremely difficult to sell on and with those miles, something else could break... The engine had just been compression tested and all cylinders were within 10psi. The box and clutch were also butter smooth.

The night before, I'd looked at a E46 320ci for a daily driver - it had 200kms, manual with short shift, silly aftermarket bodykit and the leather was a little tatty. They wanted around 11k for it, I passed.

So at this stage, still no car and still looking idea

^^Haha well it could happen, its still for sale AFAIK. I'm going to assume his buyer either fell through with finance, or is simply keeping me as a last resort.
I'm trying to save up some more $$ to go get it but at this stage a budget increase isn't likely.. I would definitely daily drive it though biggrin
I'm thinking before I physically purchase anything else, I'll let the bloke know that my offer will be withdrawn if not accepted...

For those interested, here is a pic of my mates car that I got to bash around the track today.

Right, so yesterday I had a look at a 1999 WRX STI V5 Coupe.
I'm really not a dakdak fan but this thing just looked amazing plus its semi-rare being a coupe.
Pics from the ad:

The lack of foglight covers are because it had a minor front ender (no way to tell as it was repaired so well) and the owner chose foglights as he did a lot of country driving. I didn't get to drive it but sat in the passenger seat.
There was this amazing raspy burble that it made... Essentially, I was at the point of buying it as it was immaculately clean and well kept until I asked him to demonstrate the brakes. (Has got 6pot and 4pot F/R Wilwood setup)

It pulls hard to the left under braking frown
I was devastated. The seller comes off as a very genuine bloke and assured me it was the rotors/hats that was causing it... (Quoted approx $600 for parts) I'm not so sure though as it could be due to the previous accident however minor. At this stage, I've told him I'd pass as I didn't want to be stuck with problems if it turned out that it wasn't the brakes causing the pull...
Sigh, I'm actually pretty sick of looking at cars for sale...

I also went on a car cruise with some mates today and my ideal car was there, but not for sale... A GT-Apex AE86 in black. I wanted this car so bad and missed out on it by a few days when it was advertised about a month back. It was cheap too at 13k.

ATM, there are zero Honda S2000s for sale in the whole of Western Australia. furious

What an amazing thread! How old are you again?! A potential ferrari owner at the age of 19. Epic. All my mates think im crazy for buying a caterham at 23 but I'll have to show them this to shut them up.

If you don't mind me asking what do you study at uni and do you have a part time job fund all of this? I would love to chop and change cars as regularly as this but the hours it would take to sort out insurance and the like plus paying policy cancellation fees etc always puts me off it in the end.

My favourite so far has to be the supra. infact youve got me looking in the classifieds. Got any plans for what you'll buy when you come over to the uk? I reckon you should get an exige or something along those lines.
To be brutally honest, I haven't seen the Ferrari in person and I've not really got my heart set on it... After all, its rather old, slow, LHD, doesn't have AC/PS etc and I don't know... Is a bit cliche?

With insurance, its just down to where you shop, or whether I go fully comprehensive or not (this depends on the car). I can also choose a limited miles program which reduces the cost a fair bit. We don't have policy cancellation fees here. Currently studying Marketing & Advertising, going into 3rd year soon but will have to an extra semester due to me in the early part changing majors a few times to find something I "liked" doing. wink

I really do miss the Supra. In-fact, I saw it a couple of weeks ago driving past. It looked exactly the same (same number plate) as when I left it but had a new owner. Guess that's a good thing haha. Whatever I get in the UK will be based on my budget inc air fares, whether I can find a job (doesn't have to be uni-related) etc so nothing set in stone there yet..

Brilliant car history so far, i can only hope for something half as interesting in 2 years time!
have you thought about kit cars like the man above's Caterham ^^ not sure if there are that many in Australia though.
I have thought about them... But I daresay Aus really isn't the place to own one.. The same ones are listed for sale for ages and ages too...

Right so today I looked at a car.
First off, I'll start by saying I emailed (who I thought was the seller) a price before viewing the car. I did this because it'd been for sale for a while but has had a few price drops - still outside my budget but you never know. Listed at 40, I offered 30 after a viewing.

Got a reply on Friday to come view it.. Yay.

So this afternoon I went to view said car. It had a bit of paint fade on the bonnet and rear spoiler and after a brief inspection by my mechanic, it was given the A-OK with a few hundred dollars needing to be spent at most (excluding the paint).

Then.. On the way back, I learnt the seller hadn't got my email about my pre-viewing offer and he wanted 38k minimum. Great waste of my time and inspection fee furious

What I suspect happened, was because the car was at a dealership, I'd emailed the dealer who had no say in the price as the car was owned by a "mate" of the dealership... As I type this, I can't find any feasible way of getting the extra 6-8k and am totally devastated. I got all emotional too, haven't been like that for a good while... cry

I suppose you're wondering what this car is....
Well, here is a picture from the advertisement.

Yep, a 1992 red Honda NSX.
Con: Auto, 20" Chrome wheels.
Pro: LOOK AT IT

Did I mention it was turbo?

That's right... The shop who built it said the motor cost approx $25k, strengthening the box cost $7k, then you get into the suspension, exhausts etc... Basically, a car built with no budget. This was apparently a high 10sec car (1/4 mile) with smaller wheels and slicks. True or not I don't know, but feels damn fast on half throttle, already pushing you far back in those comfy supportive leather seats....

I seriously wish I had another 6-8k... Everything else to me right now seems so limp and pathetic in comparison! wobble

I was supposed to be importing an AE86 Trueno GT-APEX from Japan and my broker has found me my ideal car... Right now though, purchasing that AE86 feels like total defeat...

Yes I know I'm very, very spoilt rotate

Before you suggest, I've tried dad - he's having trouble with his finances so that's a no-go. Mum will never lend me any funds for my car cravings... I don't and won't ask granddad and I'm not sure he could lend me such a figure.

Whatever shall I do!? nuts
Still pretty depressed about the whole thing... It wouldn't matter so much if I hadn't gone and seen it but now I can't get it out of my head!

The bubble I have would be worth 1500-2000 max so that would bring me to 32 with essentially nothing left haha.

I have been looking hard high and low for cars to make a quick buck on but can't seem to find any atm. I'm actually pretty annoyed with my dad cause I did find a Hyundai Getz about 3 weeks ago for 6350, worth 11300 but he chose to sell it to his ex-gf without telling me... (That car was a one-off insane bargain..) Other than that, I'm still looking everywhere to try and either scrounge some money together or find a car to turnover!

Just got up to date after reading this over several days - fantastic! Great mix of cars, narration and photos.

This puts my car history to shame. I must try harder! Only since owning a JDM MX5 have I really understood the attraction of Japanese cars and seeing your eclectic mix reinforces this, there's something about them which more soulful Euro / Yank cars don't have.

I'm amazed you had some of the cars for sale for so long too - I can't wait longer than a week before I go mad. Normally because I've already committed to the next car before selling the first.......should have learnt by now.

I look forward to more updates smile
Haha thanks mate smile

You're right though. For some reason I always come back :|. I could think of nothing else but another Japper. Haha re selling it doesn't bother me much at all unless I need the money, otherwise I just use it when I want/can as my mums place has a rather large shed out back capable of storing 2 cars.

I'm picking up another Hyundai Getz tonight for $7300. If all goes well, it should be sold for minimum 8500 in the coming days/weeks...

Name from GTA Vice City lol?

2 Spots of bad news coming.
A) NSX got sold frown
B) Another speeding ticket :\

A) Pretty upset about this... Nothing I can do about it now though. I thought it would take a lot longer to sell but evidently not.

B) Got done doing 70kmh in a 60kmh zone (road becomes 70 after a point..), meaning another 2 points and $150 fine... Leaving me with 3 points left :| . Didn't even know I got a fine till it arrived in the mail... I damn well hate these laws. Biggest island in the world with the most sparsely populated cities, yet lowest speed limits...

Thinking about buying a jammer...

If I get speeding fines driving a damn Mazda 121 bubble (2nd one now), what'll it be like in a proper car... Maybe I shouldn't buy anything at all....

Amazing write up mate, throughly good read. Shame about the NSX, but it was an auto so don't think I'd settle on that. Your very much like me, let your heart rule your head when it comes to cars, see a car on a whim your not even concidering buying, and it becomes your must have, even tho it's usually out of reach (budget wise), and ends up selling, you feel crushed initially, one of the worst feelings when you realise you must have that car and the seller replies it's already sold frown But hats off to you, you always seem to make good on the bad deals with profit biggrin Looking forward to your next purchase, good luck mate!
Mate my damn heart is too big for cars, yet too small for the ladies?? Haha.. No I'm not gay nono
You're describing my every feeling..! Glad there's others out there like me! beer

Well, tonight I came home in a Honda S2000. Wait a minute, you're saying, there wasn't any for sale...
I ended up posting a wanted add on gumtree and got a response last night. (I move quick you see...) The response was of a hail damaged Honda S2000 in red with 109km and full dealer log books. I kind of hoped he'd be reasonable on price as its a total monopoly out there at the minute.. I asked him what he was thinking of in $ terms as-is with the hail damage (basically everywhere but not "heavy", panels can be fixed). He said 16.5k.

Music to my ears.

When are you free for a viewing? I questioned...
Whenever I'm free was the reply.
Now?? I queried...
Sure, my address is x, cya soon.

I should note that right now (and yesterday), I can barely drive an auto let alone a manual due to a stuffed wrist I hurt in the gym 3 days ago... Clever one eh? rolleyes

Anyway he lived about 35mins away but it was rush hour. This turned into an hour trip wobble . Oh yeah, during that hour, Perth received its entire summer rainfall forecast... It also managed to hail on us for a little, stuck in the middle of the road, with all the other poor people trying to get home. I'd brought my sister and her car and that was fairly scary as all 4 bulbs in her headlights are different laugh (think she may get around to buying some more now hehe ).

Luckily, the hail wasn't as bad as it was about 2 years ago where they were golf-tennis ball sized and her car didn't get dented.

Turning into the bloke's street was fun... There was a lake across the road. I'm actually pretty thankful that her car has standard suspension now... We managed to crawl through unscathed. (Looked at it this morning and the suspension struts are squeaky clean.. hmmm)

Finally we arrived outside the guys house.......... to find him not home. This was turning out fantastic although it did stop raining literally as we parked. I learnt via the wonderful world of text messaging that he'd be back in 5mins from the local shops.

5mins later he arrived in a big 4wd which I wish I had at the time.. (I love going through puddles as fast as possible you see... I only got to briefly enjoy that in the Range Rover tongue out )

I was then shown the car. The hail damage did worry me $ wise to fix as it'd require a full respray but the rest of the car seemed great! Immaculate inside, under the bonnet and the roof was brand new with a glass rear window which worked perfectly.

I asked if he could take me for a quick spin which he replied was fine. After a quick spurt, he offered me a go. I had to decline due to my dodgy wrist. The car seemed great from the passenger seat! Obviously it hasn't got the pace of some of the previous toys I've had but the handling and sound were to die for.

Nearly back at his place, he offered me a drive to which I had to politely decline again banghead . I checked the log books - the last 100km service hasn't been stamped but he has the receipt for which was fine - I'll go get it stamped. Registration till March next year.. Seemed fine.

Next "argument" was price. He wouldn't budge much, best I could get out of him was 16k, deal done.
He said his mate who runs a panel shop had quoted him 3k for a full respray and fixing all the hail dents which was open to me if I wanted to go down that path after I bought it - I may in-fact do this after I get a few quotes myself.

After signing a piece of paper saying I'd left xx deposit for xx car etc, I was off home. Last night I got stuff all sleep.. I was tossing and turning all night thinking and planning about future modifications....

Even today, I had to wait until 8pm to go collect the car, carrying the most amount of cash I'd literally ever held (he insisted it was cash and not a bank cheque..). That was a scary experience in itself.. I did a REVs check before I went to buy the car (basically tells you if there is any money owing or previous accident damage) and it came up with CALL THE REVs GROUP who close at 530pm furious . I was thinking it could've been due to hail damage but wasn't sure and didn't want to take the risk.

Hoping the website was dodgy, I broke out mum's rego documents and put that through the website. The exact same thing came on the screen! I then tried my sister's car - that came up all good with a clear status. Hmmm I thought.. Not good.

I quadruple checked the engine and vin number only to find I'd missed out a 1. Stupid idiot smash . It now came up as all clear - same as my mum's car after I went through the digits again... (No sleep you see..)

Right, finally, the time had come. Off to the guys house!

Arrival, the S2000 sat there, ready for me to take it. Signing transfer papers and counting money took an age... Finally though all was done, I got in, struggled to initially find then select reverse and off I went.

God the S2000 is just so different again to the Supra / Skylines / M3 etc. Wanting to be sure everything was ok, I just cruised home sitting on about 90kmh in 6th watching the temperature gauge (which was perfect!), occasionally giving it a quick squirt here and there (how could you not..). The only criticism I have, is the wind noise with the roof up (weather is still way too dodgy right now for roof down business..). I've read there are fixes for this and is mostly down to the latches flapping around due to age so this should be easily fixed.

Pretty happy right now, everything's working out again smile . Its sitting pretty in the garage right now because a) its night and could rain at any second and b) low on fuel tongue out .

I hope to sort things out bit by bit and enjoy it for a good while yet. I'll update this when things get done / I sell the Hyundai and/or bubble and buy another silly car as a replacement hehe

Sorry but I have no advertisement pics or pics of my own but I promise to take some tomorrow smile

PS, a few of my mates are now expecting me to cut their hair punch

Mmm looks nice, doesn't look overly complicated, but not basic like say an mx-5, top down too... you git!

Have you never ever been tempted by a monaro v8? or big engined holden? (if they still make them??)
Top down is awesome in the best country in the world for a convertible wink . I have been slightly tempted in the past but they aren't that great imo. They go wrong easily, (though "cheap" to fix) and I don't think the product is as well finished as competitor offerings but I suppose they're very good value.
I was looking into HSV GTO coupes for a bit but didn't really find one that suit my criteria and/or price range.
Dad's driving a 6L V8 Caprice atm for a company. That's 3-4 years old, 135km, it rattles, seems like its missing on idle, brakes are awful and its probably just me but I expect a 6L engine to make much more power than they do...

Great thread. Some spot on cars on there, and also some massive sheds. wink Good to mix it up a bit.

You must have an idea of what car you would like to buy in the uk? What are you thinking? I assume you will export it too, so that may limit the choice a bit. I'm guessing it wont be a skyline - looks like most of them are in Oz already, (and have been owned by you. biggrin )

Keep up the updates.

Like I said earlier in the topic, it all depends on what job I can get, if I can find a "cheap" place to rent, air fares etc.
The odds are something euro though but what, I haven't really decided yet... Will probably have a good look when the time comes thumbup . Oh yeah it would definitely be exported back to Aus with me so I'll have to own the car over there for at least 1 year.

LOL love the confidence in here rolleyes . I do plan to keep the S2000 for a while... I took it out on a cruise last night. Its weird being one of the slowest cars especially since this one stayed within Perth... Still handles amazing but I did feel some spongy-ness through some corners.. May have to check tyre pressures.

In other news, Getz has been sold with a $1000 deposit left this morning biggrin . Sold for 8550 = approx 980 profit thumbup .

After I get the Honda painted (in the new year sometime...), I'll see how much I have left and either a) blow it on the Honda or b) buy another car and get rid of the bubble.... which I've been told by my mechanic I should keep cause it uses no oil or coolant, has nothing wrong with it, no leaks and is economical... :|

Suppose I'd better update this... Not good news I'm afraid.

Car had been going perfectly, trouble-free and I've done about 1200kms in it now. However, I met up with friends one night... 31/12/2011 @ 10;30pm and I failed to see this pop up parking post when leaving the car park and turned across it as I left.. Big mistake frown

Pic doesn't capture the damage.. Its pushed the sil in and the scrapes are bare-metal.

(no I don't smoke..)

bangheadbangheadbanghead

I'm unbelievably pissed off at myself for being so damn careless. I'd seen the pole when parking next to it and kicked it when I got out saying that's dangerous. Apparently one of my friends had been playing with it a few nights ago when in the ground and made it pop up, still all my fault though.

I got 4 quotes to fix it and the hail damage.
1st quote was from the guys I used for all my previous work on the GTRs etc.
That was $10000 plus a bonnet I had to source (aluminium so far easier to get a straight one)
2nd was $7500 + bonnet
3rd was $7000 + bonnet

Sigh. I eventually booked it in to someone I've never used before for $6000 + bonnet (Got one for 350 delivered in silver). I was told just to the damage I'd caused would be $3-4000..

Car is due to go into the paintshop on the 23rd of Jan.

I'll be taking a huge loss on this car... Don't really have any way out of it either... I'm not driving it until its fixed and I may sell it immediately after and just take an early loss :\ .
Oh yeah, I also need a new headlight as my driver's side one has a crack in the lens - cheapest I've found locally is $400 + postage 2nd hand (can't buy just the lens) but I've found one on eBay UK for around 340 AUD delivered and am awaiting a reply from the seller re state of lens.

Advice for anyone who comes to Australia... Don't damage your car cause paintshops are a rip off!!

A dramatic turn of events (for the worse) has had me not update this for some time, apologies.

That later.
Firstly, the bubble.
I kind of did this to it...

It sounded really good around town and it just used to spit and burble like crazy on the over run. Many, many stares were had lol laugh

Then, I bought a Volvo.
Kind of a big mistake... Its been a total lemon. I bought it because I'd always fancied a 5cyl turbo and there was no more for sale in manual form and it was relatively cheap.

The rear right quarter is damaged from a 4wd running into it.. Quite badly but is cosmetic and doesn't leak water. I've had to spend the price I bought it for in repairs for it and the air con still doesn't work properly. Trying to sell it now... At a huge loss. Oh well.

I did get sick of the bubble after a while though as it was a 5 speed but doing 100kmh simply destroyed my hearing due to its short gearing... I eventually sold it to a friend who was after it for a while. She promptly replaced the exhaust with the original frown

Not long after, I bought a LS400. Proper beige with beige leather, totally standard yum . So far, this is proving great. Only problems so far is speedo/tacho sometimes doesn't work and the power steering is a little more difficult to turn when cold. Still got this now and is my daily drive. No pics of it at all I'm afraid.. Will take some tomorrow and upload.

Now for the big bad news.
I dropped the S2000 at the painters on the 23rd of January.
Basically, he's done the worst job I've ever seen on it. He's had 4 go's at fixing it each time ending up marginally worse/better. I've had to get consumer affairs involved and yesterday I had the head of consumer protection - motor vehicles there to help me settle it.
Basically I paid up all $6000, got a receipt and the car home (nearly 3 months.. wouldn't release without payment and refused third party inspection at my cost). I plan now to get it inspected by a third party, then sue for damages.

Why you ask, it can't be that bad.

Oh but it is.

There is over-spray on: the brakes, wheels, both door trims, seat bases, roof, wipers, boot carpet, bonnet underside insulator, door jambs and pillars.
There is many many scratches and grazes in the paint everywhere.
Orange peel is absolutely everywhere as are bog lines and runs in the paint.
He initially badged one side of my car, a 2000 S and covered all the keyholes with paint.
The actual quality of the paint is basically awful. Its covered in dust particles, isn't shiny and mini holes in the paint from being buffed and buffed and buffed.
The repair he did to the door is appalling. Its totally out of line, a massive gap, covered in bog and looks totally different to the other side of the car.
He admitted at one stage that he was shade colourblind and said if I do successfully sue him, I'll get nothing as he's on a disability pension.

Basically, I'm stuck with it. Right now the battery is totally flat so I've bought a charger and its charging up. I'm yet to book an inspection as its proving difficult as no one wants to help as it would stand up in court and doesn't guarantee them business.

I promise to get more pictures tomorrow but I'll just leave a few for now.

This is near the driver's mirror and the general paint condition throughout.

Look how dull the finish is and the painted in keyhole. Also note black area in door which he said he can't see himself.

General overspray

Boot/bumper paint

I hate myself for taking a chance on this painter... Right now I have a lot of money in a car that is worth nothing in its current state and if I do take it to court etc that will take a long, long time and even if I do win (definitely not guaranteed) I may get nothing back...
As it stands, I'd have to sell both the Volvo & the LS400 to get enough funds for an entire repaint from scratch.

Silver lining?
First game of the season last week, we won 3-0 and I got 2 and an assist though it should've been 3 assists as my mate managed to miss 2 tap ins from my crosses to his feet from about 3m out...

Well I've discovered he's been working unlicensed and there is no chance of him continuing work as I've got consumer affairs on his case.

He says he is penniless though it only costs me $75 to go to court as its small claims under $10k so I may as well go ahead..

Alrighty I'll do an update... Not that much has changed though. I did sell the Volvo at a loss of around a grand, not too bad in the scheme of things.

First off, pics of the land barge attempting to venture back to more familiar ground...

This was a brilliant daily. I did a bit of research on the dash and it turned out to be a factory fault with them which was an easy and cheap fix once apart. The part cost 40 cents... Got my mechanic to fit it and all was well. As you do... I then put it up for sale to see if there was any interest in it while I drove it.

After around a month, I had a viewer who bought it within 1 minute of a test drive.. I hadn't priced it high (still made a minor profit rolleyes ) but in truth, I was a little over the fuel costs... It wasn't THAT bad (20-22 MPG mostly city driving), far better than any Aussie V8 but a full tank was essentially my weekly income so that got old quickly haha. Still, I was sorry to see it go as it was perfect in every way, apart from colour... No issues with it whatsoever. Something about the Honda having half the cylinders and capacity yet making the same power got to me a little... I do like efficient engines wink , yes I know built for different markets but that's why I'll probably never buy an Aussie/American V8.

At this point I decided to drive the S2000 everyday to try and save money for whatever may come from court. For about 2 weeks I was happy but then I got sick of driving it everywhere, putting kms on it just for menial boring tasks and getting it dirty (inside) from football training etc.

So I went car browsing again... Not long after I bought another car I shouldn't have... More later.

Now with court, as usual, its taking forever. I expect it will be another 2 to 4 or so months before its all sorted. The "painter" is claiming he re-passed his licensing on the work he did on my car and refuses to budge, saying I'm purely talking rubbish and is counter-suing me. (I have no clue what for, also no idea when trial will be...) I had an independent report performed as well as obtained quotes to re-do the job properly. The quote is in excess of $14k as it has to go back to bare-metal because of the stty paint he used. This is to ensure it won't bubble up in future (it is already bubbling and fading in parts now..).

So unfortunately, no more updates here. Added to the fact that my UK trip is now in jeopardy as I was going to sell the Honda to fund it (worthless in current state). Might have to work locally for a year or two (after uni) to get the funds needed to repair it to a suitable standard, then sell... (Obviously taking a massive hit) Alternatively, keep it forever and scrap the UK trip. The latter is probably going to be the outcome at the moment, pending what happens with court. I've already bought and installed a carbon Spoon intake and a full stainless dual catback out of impulse rolleyes .

And about a week ago, the car developed a weird whirring noise which seems to be coming from the middle of the car (when sitting in the driver's seat) so I'm not driving it at the moment... Thinking its just an exhaust leak between the headers/cat but will have it checked out soon.

Right, now to the car that I shouldn't have but couldn't resist purchasing...
The advertisement popped up at 4:30pm and I was driving it at 5:30 and had placed a deposit...
I was initially looking at cars in the under 2k bracket just to leave at uni, perform the daily requirements etc. Spending all my remaining funds in my bank account netted me this:

Apologies for the pics.. The car is absolutely totally filthy. A 1996 E39 528i - identical to my mum's car in model and year but (thankfully) not colour. Also, the previous owner was a surfer so it had hideously ugly roof racks.... That now reside on mums car, ha-ha.

Right details: 143km, full log books and has had a head rebuild last year in September that apparently cost $6k eek . I really like the BBS wheels and it has been lowered on Bilstein shocks. I'm really in two minds about keeping it for a longer run and getting the update headlights, tail lights and boot lip spoiler, maybe some carbon bits along the way too.

The entire car has just two minor problems exist with it: FSR broken - new one ordered for $51 delivered and the front windscreen seal is beyond perished - will get to this soon. Progress will be slow with this and the S2000 as my mechanic has just taken a 3 month holiday wobble .

That's bang up to date as far as I'm aware... At last count the bimmer makes 22 cars yikes .
Sorry for the slow posting - I hadn't forgotten wink.
