Just bought this for myself the wife as a bit of a run-around & because riding around on a bike when finally gets cold & wet wasn't appealing to me this time around. This also means I can kick my bike project off & not have to rush it over the Winter.

It's in pretty good condition, apart from slight bubbling on the rear arches which I'll sort next year. I just need to sort the rear tyres (Runway & P6000) then a bit of a service & it'll be great...

Brief test drive proved it to be a bit of a Go Kart & quite pokey. The engine is refreshingly free reving- almost rev-hungry, the steering is very direct & quite weighty. A new clutch was fitted at the beginning of the year & the gear change for a FWD car is very precise.

Inside it's immaculate with full electrics, standard CD player & functioning Air Conditioning. Considering it cost me £675, I think I've done rather wellbiggrin

Pics from the advert:

I'll put some better ones up after I've collected it tomorrow.

Extremely entertaining cars to drive.

Leave it on the standard suspension just add a Whiteline 22mm (I think) ARB kit and Toyo 888's and it will be laughably fun on a twisty b-road.

Am right in thinking they are fitted with a 1.7 engine originally designed by Yamaha - or was that a drug induced dream I managed to concoct? wink

Interesting RE the ARB kit- I may have a look at that. 888s won't last long with the wife's drivinglaugh

Good buy for £675.I'd have thought it would be double that.

That's right, and it was one of the first mainstream fords to have variable cam timing. Great little motors.

They are quality little cars. Good purchase. I always liked the Puma advert with Steve Mcqueen, really nice bit of advertising.

£675! You jammy git! I thought I got a good deal at £800 a year ago... AND mine needed a clutch!

A very enjoyable steer these, enjoy.

Absolutely no plans to modify it, just to get it reasonably nice.

So far it needs- in order of importance:

Lower arm
Tracking adjustment
x2 rear tyres (so they match)
Passenger seat adjustment wheel
Parcel Shelf
Rear arch repair (waiting till spring)
Alloy wheel refurb, although I may look for later wheels
Paint correction & interior cleaned properly.

That's it really, it all seems pretty solid. Although after driving Bobski's SL60 AMG today, it now feels like a food blender in a biscuit tin frown

Very nice for 675, fancy one myself for a bit as they seem to be almost universally praised on here, just cant find one that doesnt have some rot on it though.
