Caution - French Content (Peugeot 207 GTI)
Discussion
I've been lurking this forum for a long time and thought it about time i posted pictures of my toy.
Bought in May last year for £9,000 totally standard bar the Octane pack which includes dual zone climate, auto directional headlights, tinted rear windows etc.
This is how she looked standard:
A few very subtle and hopefully tasteful modifications later...
Nice pic of my wheels from French Car Show this year :-)
All i have added to date is:
Custom stainless down pipe with sports cat
Custom stainless cat back with twin AMG style pipes (the standard were foul)
Fully adjustable coilovers
15mm spacers on the front, 25mm on the rear
18" OZ Superturismo GT's
Private Number Plate
It has been a very evenful year to say the least, i have possibly experienced every fault you can imagine with this car and repairs to date stand at circa £5k. When it runs right it is a fantastic car and then for no reason whatsoever it throws a stinker.
I have maintained this car at all costs and hopefully it shows. Hope to get more pics up once the weather is clear.
Next comes my quest for power, all comments welcome... please be gentle lol
Please excuse the varying picture sizes!

I like to think the exterior is as modified as it will get without going OTT.
Mirror caps are stainless steel and came as part of the Octane pack, may go a different colour when i refurb the wheels.
Tints come in handy for my little girl, i quite like them, it's only the rears afterall.
Current list of repairs are:
Upgraded cylinder head due to inlet valves being drowned in carbon beyond repair
Both low and high pressure fuel pumps
VVT Unit & Cam soleniods etc
Master and slave cylinder
Catalytic converter collapsed
Lambda sensors
Boost control valve
Front shocks popped after hittng a pothole when on lowered springs
Thrust bearing went taking out the clutch
Turbo oil feed
I have just replaced the turbo in a pre-emptive measure as the actuator was rattling, turned out all was fine but i got one off a write off for £300 with 1k miles on it and recouped that money selling the one off mine on eBay.
Have got a list of spares as long as your arm for when other well known components fail lol.
It seems no matter how well you look after these things you just can't rely on them.

You forgot the ABS. I like to think the exterior is as modified as it will get without going OTT.

I have known those seats go for £800 upwards!
They're so comfy!
Yeah i think alot of these highly tuned hot hatches are doomed to fail!
Can't help but think they rushed production!
You'd expect them to hold value being that rare but it seems the probems that plague them have a negative effect on value.
It has been and continues to be a hard relationship but as Steve knows with all the ladies that have been in my life - i'm a glutton for punishment.

Well, that and the fact that Peugeot's reputation for making great, fast cars has been dashed to smithereens over the past few years after the death of the hot 106 and 306's. You'd expect them to hold value being that rare but it seems the probems that plague them have a negative effect on value.
Nice looking car and not seen a gti 207 as yet so must be a rarity..?
Sad all the faults and gremlins hampering the enjoyment of your car..
My neighbour has a 2 yr old 308 sport that's been plagued by trouble almost from day one..
