yeah, but guess what. They are not yours, and you do not have to live with them. I suppose if you have something better, you may have some bragging rights, but as it is, you are just someone talking smack on the computer...Oh, what a concept... Did you assume I have never encountered a troll before?

at the time, they were the best Momo had to offer for that car, in a 17 inch for a winter tire. I have 19 inch Bazo rims for summer tires as well. Just to be certain you get the right effect, you may want to talk trash about them as well

They are crap biggrin
(Couldn't resist)
Brilliant selection of cars, although the wheels on the Merc are shall I say a bit... erm... bright? Actually they would probably look more reasonable in gunmetal grey. As I said before though, get that dam Corvette going, its beautiful.

That bike makes the healy look tiny!
that bike is quite a toy. I built that from a touring bike frame. The engine is 129 cubic inches (2113 CCs), with a 45 horsepower "hot shot" of nitrous. It is in the 200 horsepower range. The transmission is a baker 6 speed overdrive, and I have a 3 inch primo Brute IV open primary, with a pro-clutch. I rolled my own fenders and installed 59 cadillac tail lights (converted to LED)...I even made my own exhaust and painted the bike myself

I am a bobber fan, but I wanted a touring bike. That build just got a little out of control

what you don't see, in that pic, is that car merc came with a chromed grill, and chrome badging. I was kind of stuck with chrome or it would look like cheesy add on stuff

I pored some gas into the carb of the vette, and it fired right up, yesterday. It does not even have 150K on the odometer, and I used it as a driver for quite a few years. It is a great old car

Right well the Corvette can go back to daily driver duties then biggrin. Get the fuel tank drained and possibly replace the fuel lines, and a fluid change for good measure and it is good to go.

I get the impression that, given his past restoration history, he may not need you to explain how to get it running for him wink

yeah...I might have turned a wrench before

I was a professional mechanic/machinist for 17 years, specializing in building racing engines. I have also been crew chief on a few drag cars... yah never know, I may be good at delivering fuel to combustion chambers...LOL

But you made no mention to his other cars!
This guy takes the time to pop up pictures, writes an interesting post, and all you come up with is an insult about the wheels on one of his vehicles.

Was not even amusing, no banter, just an out and out insult/bloody stupid comment. Pratt.

thanks for the support. I do appreciate it...

I just assumed that the comment came from a kid. Sometimes they let alligator mouths overload parakeet arses. (take note, I am trying to fit in here. it takes a real effort to put an R into arses)

Hello Lee wink (or should it be Keanu?)

Wonder how long it will be before you start throwing your toys out of the pram and get yourself banned from here too?!

Still, like it or hate it, the criticism of the wheels on that Merc was quite rightly placed, they are horrific.

Haha, unlikely - daily toy from pram throwing is a common occurence here anyway, I can't remember seeing anyone being banned from here for ages, and rightly so.

I also don't like the wheels on the merc I'm afraid, but I have to say I'm in love with your collection of Jags. <3

To yourself and Geoffers. I am not a kid merely honest. If the pair of you wish to be all delicate and selective in your comments either to the op or anyone else on this forum that's your choice.

Yeah...Joe had a hayday when I requested removal from the mod list. He banned me from one site, and I banned him from another. He posed and postured on one forum and was made fun of on another. Nothing was accomplished.
When I checked back in there and saw driftster posing as someone who could give tech advise and clutch calling his 90s ish stratus a "dodge ferrari" I really just decided that I was not missing anything. Those owning real sports cars left, and what remains is kids with their first cars, or those who have not progressed past video games... I did have quite a laugh when that site was listed on Flippa last year, and went off without a single bid

Not delicate in any way, shape or form, merely pointing out your lack of manners/breeding, all the op did was post on the forum, and all you said was

""Sorry but the wheels on that merc are frankly hideous. Never seen anything quite so horrid.""

Cant see your post, did you remove it?

Fair enough, you dont like the wheels, big deal, but you are just plain rude, simple as that, hence you seem like a little internet warrior/troll/sprog, manners cost nothing.

The fact is that "real" auto enthusiasts do not introduce themselves by criticizing or insulting another enthusiast's vehicle. I would not go so far as to say there is a code of ethics, but there is point where it is not really appropriate. had you worded it a different way, the responses may have been different. The fact that you did not know this implies a limited exposure to the auto enthusiast sub-culture

Personally, I think Mono wheels are too euro styled, and I am not fond of the chrome...but I did say that the car came with a chrome grill and chrome badges. Too many different textures makes a car look cheap, like some kid is adding on as trade or limited income allows. I bought it as a "grey market" car, which means it came from europe privately, instead of from a dealer lot. The chrome on the car was not of my doing... had I been given the choise, the badges, grill and wheels would have been flat black

No I didn't remove it. If its not there then its a mystery to me. I don't regret the comment. It is what it is.

People are entitled to their own personal opinions. By the op posting up his collection he invites both positive and negative comments/criticism.

If criticism is too much for him to cope with or he feels it is too harsh then he should re consider whether to post up on an internet forum where people will say what they think.

It is also not your job to defend nor fight the ops battles which he did perfectly well himself.

As a matter of fact my first comment was much more friendly in tone where i asked if he was a pimp which as far as i am concerned was quite obviously tongue in cheek.

He decided to make an issue out of it so i responded in kind. If he had taken it in the tone intended we would not be having this discussion.

if you were to go back and look, my response to your initial post made no issue. In fact it was funny, unless of course it was too close to the truth for comfort

from there you decided that an insult was your best course of action. Do not try to make a victim of yourself now
