I'm prepared for the abuse, but what the heck...

Here is my latest purchase. Had it for about a week.

Day 661: 23/10/11 - The Fridge by v15ben, on Flickr

Nicknamed the Fridge because well, it couldn't look any more like an appliance or have any less soul if it tried.

A bit of background. I live in Korea, so budget car choices are limited to Hyundai, Kia or Daewoos. Add to that equation that driving standards here are absymal, there is no space to park and the city I live in has more traffic jams than I've ever seen... the Matiz almost starts to make sense.

It sounds like a washing machine on spin cycle, looks awful, but it never seems to use any fuel and it was cheap.

Awaits the comedy responses hehe

we have all been young and drunk, enough to take a fat girl home. This falls into the same category

It just needs a Hayabusa engine conversion, and to be stripped out, then it'll be brilliant biggrin

Have to say it looks a lot er, cooler in white than the metallic pi55 yellow/gold that seemed to be the default colour for these over here... smile

Regretfully I'm far too powerfully built to fit in one of those. And the pedals annoy me- no travel whatsoever, they're more like buttons... I've got no chance of recovering a front end slide with a stomp of my Alpinestars. And FWD? everyone knows that people only get FWD because they're not man enough for RWD...

I've driven a couple at work, they aren't that bad for what is a really, really cheap car.

I ran one as a commuter car when I got my first Elise. I adored it for all it's objective crapness. On ste rubber it would lift off oversteer like a goodun at tiny speeds and the thrum of the little 3 pot always raised a smile.

Helped me move house and even moved a pallet of bricks (over many trips) one morning.

As others have said, at least it is JDM spec. wink

Also, how does it compare to the RenaultSport Clio..actually, I think I know the answer. laugh

Did you know the alloys are from the face-lift (2000/2001) spec Hyundai Coupe 1.6. nerd

I guess if it fits your needs then that is fine. smile

alloys are standard for these, i drive a smaller engined and slower 5 door hatch, fun to rag it everwhere and care little for speed camera's and so cheap

A very dark time in my life led me to buy one of these.

£400, 2001, 88k. One of the best cars I've owned!

A friend of mine had one of these - his mum rolled it when she got tangled up in a police chase. Not even joking! (she was fine btw)
