With my basic mechanics knowledge could you not have one engine with a supercharger the other with the turbo for maximum rev range?
I would imagine the engines would need to be matched otherwise you would be asking for more trouble and a very complicated build already.

It will be fully road legal and not built just for one reason.
You will have to remove one of the engines for it to be legal on the road. I believe just having one engine turned off and in neutral isn't sufficient. Having two engines working whilst on the public roads would be against the Construction and Use laws, and insurance would be void.

The Chaos Crew had this problem on Scrappy Races, which they avoided by having 2 different rear ends they could bolt on to their cab gear changing was simplified by using automatic gearboxes.

Yes that is the rear of the vehicle.

In the late 90's and early 2000's Dubsport built numerous twin engined VW's, all of which were taxed, insured and MOT'd, and used on the road on a regular basis without any issues.

From what i have seen and read there is no real problems in running both engines on the road. Aslong as the car passes an MOT.
As said above Dubsport (Ian Birch) built loads of Twin engine cars which where used on the road and are still used today (DVLA Check B19 DUB Twin engine Mk4 Golf) aswell as the twin engine westfields, a few renault 5's and there is a bloke on here who has a C2 with 2 x V6 engines (Had a fire and rebuilt it).

Citroen also built the 2CV Sahara which had an engine in both the front and the rear. As far as I know, they were also road legal. It didn't make it any less hideous, though.. hehe

Weren't they attached to the same common transmission?

I seem to recall they have to share a common drive train to be road legal.

Don't forget with this project you will need to register the new engines with the car.

ETA, I may be talking bks there.

No, the engines powered each 'end' of the car independently in all cases.

The only things linking the 2 engines were the throttle cables and the gear linkage which connected both gearboxes.
Also, the clutch operates both clutches at once.

You actually don't have to exactly match the power/throttle response of each engine as everybody always thinks in these cases, think of it as a strong person and a weak person pushing the same car, they are both adding to the total pushing force.

Exactly as Op says, it might not be the best or the fastest but it will satisfy the bonkers intent with which it's been made for.

Although, i bet it will be pretty damn fast..

great project.

Love it!
Awesome project and it's great you're getting pleasure out of it now and you certainly will in the future.

You've said how the main aim of the project is to create something that's fun and enjoyable but you can't deny it's also a fantastic promotional tool for you and your garage! thumbup

PS - loved the black Corsa you used to have (B20RDY), I remember it well from the old school days of MIG!

I remember the black one too, big wide arch kit and a v6 from memory?

Are you putting a fire proof wall in the cockpit?!?! I seem to remember a fairly nasty video of a twin engined golf going pop with someone inside the cabin...

Thanks for all the nice comments.

Will add a few more bits which people are bringing up. I have been building vauxhall's for years as some people have said, an my garage is a specialist vauxhall garage in the northwest but my real passion now is fabrication/welding. Really enjoy locking myself in my garage on a sunday when noones around and mock up a tubular manifold or exhaust system. As some people have said i have built a few vauxhalls for both myself and customers.
Few pics below,

the Black 3lt V6 with Nitorus (i still own and plan to give my son.)
