Morning all, been shopping; Rear bootlid surround vinyl So should look like this... Also looking at upgrading front brakes with cross drilled / vented disks, like this... Along with EBC or matching Tarox pads, Also wanting to get a few more OEM goodies such as headlight adjustment stickers etc.. Have also put the Airbox back to standard with the intake trumpet removed for added induction Induction noise ) actually runs better for this too, plus looks a bit nicer under the bonnet IMO Cheers, Rik

Cheers, Rik

saladdodger said: Nice, i do like a MK2 Golf GTi Thankyou, getting hard now unfortunately to find one that hasn't been abused by a Dub Mong! Eg stupid stretched tires, slammed to the floor, smoothed over etc :/ these are getting classic car status now so the original ones are starting to be much more appreciated! Hoping to get back onto standard springs, wheels etc later this year and get her garaged for weekends amd occasional daily use on nice days, but i will admit I do use her daily atm, shes still a great car but she's currently at 215k miles and I think it's best to sort of preserve her a bit now as I not fancy running a good classic example of a gti into the ground lol!

If you really like it and gonna keep it i would whip that engine out and do a nice fresh build possibly more BHP and maybe a gearbox rebuild. BUT... i would be tempted to see how far you can get the original miles up to

Still going strong but valve stems are smoking a bit now on start up so cylinder head will have to be sorted on, bottom end is all good though Rik

Great thread mate, I have been through so much with my 8v too and it's so hard to part with it. To be honest I don't really want to sell it but I have to swap cars soon because I don't have a lot of time left in the UK. Here's mine: http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3556277.htmSeems like the market is so quiet for these, haven't even got as much as a phone call! I'm driving mine up to Scotland in March, can't wait!

After seeing yours I do fancy a set of BBS RAs now and have been toying with the idea for a little while now! But then again I do love the OZs lol! Have to see what happens eh! And Scotland sounds like a good ol run! Gotta drive mine to Cornwall soon for mine and my missus holiday, hopefully around may! Looking forward to that too!

UPDATE TIME! Today I got myself a new (ish!) front big bumper to replace the broken, tired one on mine! So 30 notes and a trip to MK later I have a nice sturdy front bumper! Some of you eagle eyed readers may have noticed the replacement bumper is Royal Blue and not Tornado Red, this will be sorted out soon when I get a free afternoon or so! Next up was a trip to halfords to get some fresh, clear and unfussy number plates. Car looks a lot lot better now in my opinion! Front plate.. Rear Plate.. And lastly these have been ordered to replace the classless clear indicators I currently have fitted.... So this week I will hopefully recieve my new indicators and fuel lift pump and sender from eBay and also may try and fit the rear tailgate gti vinyl! A few more pictures! Comments welcome, Rik Golf and V70R Cheers.

Update Time!!! Skinny Bumpers are on! Overall, im pretty happy with them! Shame the 2 front wings are a bit rotten and I need to spray up the replacement front valence panel but It will do for now until I can get the replacements! At least the arches and bumpers now match - True pre 90 spec! Not sure what to do with the Dtm... Sticks out a bit far now as was designed for big bumper! Comments and criticisms welcome! Rik

Yeah it is a. Shame tone honest will be hard to let her go. Would like her to go to an enthusiast really and to someone that will look after her. Just my work commutes of 250 miles a week are unfortunately going to slowly run her further into the ground. and the car is far too good for that to happen to! Open for offers however Rik
