BMW E36 M3 Evo
Discussion
Off to Donington this weekend so finishing a few jobs
A bit of cold air induction
Should work a bit
Also fitted a cone behind the grill t help divert a bit of air to the filter. The original plastic scoop thing is missing
Been to the weigh-bridge
That is 60 KG less than last time.
The weight is taken with a 100% full tank of fuel
Then repainted the grill and cone

Just did a track day at Donington Park.
Was wet first thing but turned in to a fantastic morning. The rain hit again in the afternoon.
I can confirm that the Federal tyres are not too good in the wet and that I'm not that skilled...

Second spin (in the afternoon)
I did however get a personal best around the National Circuit which is good

a complete pain in the ass to get the 8.5j wheels to fit with the HSD coilovers.
Possibly a bit more research was required...
fittes studs to the front hubs to aid wheel changing etc.
now also have 30mm spacers on each side
I have had to lift the front end to get the tyres clear of the springs
I can't drive the car to settle the suspension currently as it has no seats but I assume it will get a bit more even after.
Not ideal currently but I'm sure I will get it to work

yer, I have fked up with the wheels...
basically, the new wheels I have just got have a larger backspace.
10mm is the differance
note to self - don't assume...
I now have 4x 235/45 R888's and need to decide what to do.
My thinking is to just put the new R888's on to my green wheels which are the original ones that came with the E36 Evo.
7.5J and 8.5J
The tyres coming off the green wheels are Federal FZ-201's and are all 235/45's

The green wheels are: BMW Style 39
Front: 7.5j x17 ET 41
Rear: 8.5j x17 ET 41
The black ones are: BMW Style 68
8.5J x17 ET 50
From the E46
there is no way I can make them fit the front of the E36. I have always run with 20mm spacers on the green wheels but don't want to go any more.
I'm currently putting the R888's on to the green wheels but the tyre fitter is having issues breaking the bead on the Federals
on a plus side, I have finished striping weight out of the back and have refitted the seats etc.
hopefully I will be ready for a test run on Monday (if the tyres ever come off the rims).

I have fitted the wheels back on now and put the spring rate/ride height back to where it was.
I may need to go up a bit on the front but can't tell until I do some hard cornering
Just need to tax it so I can have a drive - wait for May however as I don't want to give the DVLA more money than I have to

I have booked Donington for the 19th so taxed the car today ready for a bit of running in etc.
Just got back from a couple of weeks in the Highlands which was fantastic. A few pictures (not of the M3 however..
The "Skyfall" shot
May have changed my mind on the EU vote....
The only problem is that I spent 15 minutes with the BiB on the A85 and may be getting a few points and a fine (if I'm lucky)
