My Mk1 Granada V8
Discussion
Hi there, i own a 1977 ford mk1 granada fitted with a ford 351w (5.7l) V8, ive owned the car since 2004 having bought off a guy named Paul from canning town in east london, after taking a wrong turn on the way to viewing a Corvette. The corvette was a dissapointment so i returned to the granada i saw and wanted to know more. After a test drive and a few new pant stains (lol) i haggled and bought the car. Unfortunately after 5 days i was a bit too generous with my right foot and blew the engine up outside the ace cafe...ooops!
After a few weeks another engine was sourced and we was back on track which made the car run a pb of 13.39 @ 109.8mph at a following years run what ya brung.
In 2006 however, at a classic ford show at santa pod, she ran a 13.99 @ 99.8 mph on a 2.0 granada diff which caused us not to have any top end on the strip and conciquently doing the rings in....ooops!
Yet again another 351w came up with 350-375bhp and bought that for £1800 as to rebuild the other engine was going to cost between £3-4k. Car has not run up the strip since but has more power than second engine mentioned.
This is just a breif rundown of the car so far, me and my son have done all the work since ownership and have fitted a new interior, new polly bushes up front on every bush that could be replaced and powder coated the subframe and suspension arms etc, i hope you like, i will be posting more pics up soon.

I love this !
You must have been trying to knacker the two motors
Going a bit OT here I am only 29 so wasnt around when these cars were current, but there is something about the old skool granadas, mk1 especially, but even the mk2 models.
Ford totally lost their way after that with the blob shape grannys, back in the day I can see this shape and the mk2 being a credible alternative to a bmw or mercedes, but never the blobby scorpios etc
