Still think this is an epic machine.
Have you got the clio back yet Lee?
Ive now sold my 172 cup, and got myself an S2000, and looking to get that on track shortly
Clio is back! well its at Mark Fish Motorsport just having a checkover and some front brake ducts done and Geo checked etc... but its all done and ready for action by tomorrow

Found myself coming back to this post and reading the whole thing again! The one thing that seems to come across more than anything else is what a top bloke Lee is, feck me every time someone wrongly critisizes his driving[he was having fun not trying to stay inside the lines] he offers them a drive in his car and apologises if hes caused offence!!
Top bloke with a great passion for cars, a top collection and the patience of a saint with the sort of people that pick up on the safety factor of wearing short sleeved tops nono.
Ok so your always offering rides out so figured i'd return the good will and would love for you to come a get sideways in my toysI have a 500 bhp LS powered TVR Griff and a 400b TVR350 both on 888's! Not as mental as the westie but you sound like a man who apprecaite car's full stop!
Like you i'm not a great passenger so i'd have to follow if i could keep up??
Tell us where your out next and i'll bring the tivs??

I've never seen or met Porkie, but I always read his posts here and on the Cliosport forum, and he never fails to come across as a bl**dy good bloke, and really humble considering his cars and 'disposable income'! Hopefully I'll get to meet him at Bedford some day.

The Westfield is the sister car to this one although it only has 330BHP it lapped the Nurburgring at an incredible pace I have been asked to take mine there many times to see if we can smash the record for Caterham/Westfield cars

That was good driving! I have done thousands of Bedford laps and it is normal to use ALL of the track and a bit more there, I used to go there a lot when drifting was encouraged as it was a safe pace to learn, it is only the noise nazis that spoiled it.

Bedford is different to many circuits and it is safe to take a few liberties, you wouldn't drive Combe or Goodwood in the same way with as little risk

I have driven quick (ish) caterhams there and with the quick racks it is hard to catch one of the lairy slides if you get a slapper on. this driver did very well in my opinion.

Any good racer will use every inch of track....the great Trevor Reeves who easily beat Needel around Bedford was teaching me and his biggest comment was "use more track, you have paid for all of it, so use it"

I once commented on Simon Greens lines in his GT2 when I was a new "expert" little did I know that he was trail braking and left fot breaking....he was a brands instructor and can really peddle......I learned later, once I had really learned.

You must be Peter that bought Stus Red car.

Stu built mine for me after doing his. Dunno where you got the 330bhp figure from though??!?

Good luck selling your car, I'd definately go for at least a lap in it around the Ring before you sell. Its an incredible experience as so open and low and just bloody thrilling compared to anything else I've driven around Ring.

steaks are good as well here... Stus Exige was STUPIDLY quick. Scared me!

Think what he is saying that there is another car like mine used to be owned by my friend Stu (who also built mine for me)

Its red and uses a GT3076 where as I have the smaller GT3071 Turbo. Otherwise they are pretty much the same cars. Red one is for sale.

Trevor is awesome driver and the Turbocharged Golf that I saw him drive at bedford was a total weapon of a car. There was another Reeves in another equally fast Golf as well that day.

Hello Porkie,

Is that Martoon and Will Pedley sat in Stu`s old car? Hub dyno a very good idea, Karl has offered to map mine on the road which I think is bloody madness. Tony at Turbosystems uses a hub dyno.......

Mine has had a few alterations as I`ve come to realise it was built on a shoestring. It had been smoking for a while even after rebuild from Martoon, oil drain is difficult when using a GT30 and a 4x4 manifold and it had been bodged along with various earths and numerous other things by doing the original build on the cheap.

I`ve had a ACT gauge fitted so can start to think about intercooling and engine cooling. I think I`m going to do something different to you and Stu. I will be happy with a solid and reliable 450/450.

You really weren`t kidding when you said these were expensive.
