Recently sold this but will have to get another one day soon I think, one of the best cars i've owned pics were taken after it had a diamond brite 2 stage paint protection, gave it a great shine, not sure if it was a final edition as it didnt have the elec rear blind and roof mount tv, but still one of my faves,

Looks fantastic. I've grown to dislike the wheels though, usually plastered on every mk4 Golf I come across.

I went along with a mate to see customer/car dealer, this had just came in a px for range rover sport (guy had owned the s8 7 years) and I bought it there and then after a quick test drive! I wasnt even looking for a car at the time. Best car move I made. Was relaible too, only had to change the front pads and discs in my ownership plus 1 service. Shock for the missus when i bought it home...no holiday this year love

Gorgeous car, I'd prefer an E38 7 but these are one of my favourite old barges, and they look relatively modern still, which an E38 struggles to do now.

Sounded like an angry Lion when you put your footdown

I had a few e39 sports, also great cars, the 3.0 petrol made a great sound with a kickdown, found them a bit twitchy even with quality tyres (m badges were taken off)

Awesome piece of kit, I still rate those and they're proper to drive.

We had a single owner, 50,000 mile car in early this year that was expensive but sold very quickly indeed. There's a lot of love out there still.

Beast of a car for sure, but I have to say looks-wise it looks far older than a 2002.

Stunning cars, always liked them and always feared the running costs too!

Same, would love one but feel they do look dated somewhat.

Whats the real world mpg on the 4.2?

Was just thinking the same thing. Same goes for a similar vintage A6

True, it did run from about 94 or 95 with only a facelift.

Mpg was not great around town, mainly beacuse it's hard to tootle around in without using the throttle too much!

Motorway was 20+ mpg
Town 10-12 mpg
