Yeah the 10/5mm is the listed minimal drop by KW and is the minimal recommendation for the set up to function, but after mine was fitted (by KW Germany's development tech) a guy in Europe had a kit fitted and his tuner was able to maintain a nigh on oem ride height but this is not recommended by KW so I am unsure what was done to maintain that level, but I do agree with you about the slammed look, it is just not practical on today's roads, and I will not be going any lower than 10mm up front, but I feel an additional full mill drop to the rear is required now to pull the back down a tad and level up the front, (after changing the rear box there was a bit of a weight differences that could be the reason for the rear).....
Next, well I am still looking at the software upgrades but still unsure who and where, I am pretty much temped to go a German tuner while taking in a trip to the ring again, but still looking into each and in no rush. I have the carbon diffuser arriving anytime now ......
but the plan is to keep it as close to factory 'looking' as possible but on the list is seats and brakes.
Engine bay, looking at having the cover done in a frost metallic white
hey bro, thanks for the info.... BTW these will go to stock ride height, i spoke to kw re my own coilovers and they can go to stock ride height but large bumps may crack the bump stops, but wont harm anything, to low is what damages the dampers according to kw.... either way im lowered around 15mm front and rear, this gives me a 2 finger gap all round which while isnt 100% asthetically pleasing will my dampers to work properly within their designed remit, i think the 1m is lower already in stock form than my stock z4m was...Next, well I am still looking at the software upgrades but still unsure who and where, I am pretty much temped to go a German tuner while taking in a trip to the ring again, but still looking into each and in no rush. Have you considered BMW Performance seats? They would look sensational in your car. Expensive though...
Sure have, but will require the stitching to be done again in orange, just awaiting now a friend to sell his 1M and snap up his seats lol Thanks.....
Yeah I did give it a slight front end lift, approx 5mm as the splitter is a good 10mm thick and the underside of the bumper has suffered a number of scrapes, so I will see how I get on and keep an eye on it for now and make any further height adjustment as needed, but also have a welsh weekend drive coming up with a few other 1M owners, and the conditions of some of the mountain passes we will be attacking I want to give my splitter a fighting chance lol

completely agree, mines near stock ride height.Yeah I did give it a slight front end lift, approx 5mm as the splitter is a good 10mm thick and the underside of the bumper has suffered a number of scrapes, so I will see how I get on and keep an eye on it for now and make any further height adjustment as needed, but also have a welsh weekend drive coming up with a few other 1M owners, and the conditions of some of the mountain passes we will be attacking I want to give my splitter a fighting chance lol

With the state of the road, speed bumps and the likes, it is the only real way you can go to be able to use your car in a general manor. I have just been playing with some additional damper settings from a 'comfort ride' for commuting around London to a set up for b-road blasts while taking in the ride height and limiting body role as best I can.Gassing Station | Readers' Cars | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
