Aussieinlondon- Really, good on you. Even if it's way out of my reach, it makes me happy that a real enthusiast owns a car like this one. Drive it like you love it...

What about a nice German number plate surround for the rear? Not the ones you get on eBay a proper one.

I know of a few who have picked them up while in Germany, I am actually dropping by the Welt for a look around in Sept so the plan was to pick one up while I am there.... http://img809.imageshack.us/img809/6070/javagruenn...

Lovely looking car
What mod's have you got planned for the engine? How are the standard brakes on these?
Thanks mate What mod's have you got planned for the engine? How are the standard brakes on these?
Not alot planned at this point in time, I am new to the BMW tuning scene so will review and watch what others do for the time been, at the moment its just the uprated cooler having helped Forge out, the good thing is, visually you wouldn't know it was there unless you remove the undercover, from the front it just looks oem, but that is where it ends..... Next on the list is chassie, will be going down the KW DDC with ECU, on the brakes front, they work extremely well, bit of a difference with the M3 being the overall weight of the 2 cars, I run Alcon 6 pots with a 365mm disc on my astra coupled with competition pads and on the road the oem brakes on the 1M are much more responsive from the word go but then the comp pads on my astra need some heat to work affectively, but then they are track pads as is my astra's main intended use, I do have some braided brake lines for the 1M currently sitting in my boot which Forge's sister company measured up for while the car was up for the cooler work, will fit shortly front and rear and add some dot5.1 fluid and see how it goes....
No changes of late other than the KW DDC/ECU coilovers are in build and should be here mid April at this stage, and the control app has been uploaded to my ipod touch

....... other than that have been clocking up some miles.
Anyways over the weekend as we had some semi nice weather (the sun was shining) I thought I would get the car out of the garage and take a few pics in some proper light.

Georgeous! Have you thought about a carbon fibre splitter? I think it would look very good in contrast with the white and it would suit the wheels.
I was about to ask for details on the Alcantara until I googled it and found it comes from the factory like that! Amazing.
I have actually and there is one being sorted in the US based on the M3 CRTI was about to ask for details on the Alcantara until I googled it and found it comes from the factory like that! Amazing.

But the front end even running standard ride height is a little on the low side, at present I had to remove the centre front undercover bolt as it clips my garage entrance gate runner, I will soon shortly be soon sort out my garage entrance issue but still I will be only see about a 15mm drop up front when I fit the KW's so the splitter may end up being a disaster waiting to happen, but we shall see ; )
And the alcantara is factory, does look finish off the interior nicely.
Depends on the underside of the centre part of the bumper, this splitter has been moulded around and uses the bumper/undertray fitting points but saying that there is a few 135i owners in the US with a full front carbon splitter, will see if I can find for you, as for the rear diffuser, I believe there is one in carbon that is an exact to the oem otherwise there is a few modified with fins........

I am sorry but this just looks f*cking AWESOME.
Was a passenger in a pearly white M3 V8 with Competition pack at the weekend.
My best friend has an E46 M3 that I have spent a lot of time in but the V8 is just on another level. Just brilliant. 8500rpm and seamless shifts, the noise, the wheels, it is just a lovely car to be in.
Would love a 1M or the M3. Either are bloody lovely.
Sorry about the iPhone quality pic..!
That is exactly what my wife had in mind when we first starting looking at BMW's, an M3 in white with the competition pack, and it ended up being number 2 on the list if she couldn't get her hands on the 1M... Was a passenger in a pearly white M3 V8 with Competition pack at the weekend.

Small update..... catless midpipes fitted, Hosetechnic braided brake lines and uprated fluid, will be going in to KW on the 7th May for the DDC ECU coilovers http://www.kw-suspensions.co.uk/uk/kw_ddc.php then making it's way to Hayward & Scott for a custom midpipes back exhaust.
As it stands now, now resembling a Panda rather than a Polar.

Are you putting this on the KW stand at any shows this year or is that still going to be the Astra's weekend home?
The 1M where needed, as for the astra, its was fitted with new clubsports but has been off the road now for 8 months and not sure when I will be using it again, well not any time soon anyways......After_Shock said:
Very nice, BMW across from were I work have a white one in at the moment, keep looking at it!!
Sounds like doing some interesting stuff to it.
Whats the aim power wise?
No real aim to be honest (power wise), I have no immediate plans for software upgrades, hardware to improve on the stock power and cooling but more interested in improving the handling and braking, so next up will be looking at the tyres with the new super sports over the current pilot sport sp2's. After the interooler was fitted and ran on the dyno, at the flywheel it was making night on 380bhp and 400lbft of torque. I have yet to run it since the secondary cats where removed.Sounds like doing some interesting stuff to it.
Whats the aim power wise?
To be honest, the Don Palmer limit handling course is my plan for summer so I can harness the current power available before taking it to the next level, that I feel will be more beneficial for me right now.

Have you noticed much difference with the catless (n55?) pipes? I am tempted to change mine, a cheap easy mod.
Performance wise, not massive but with the 2 main cats on the downpipes I wasn't expecting much, but removing some of that restriction can only benefit removing heat and turbo spool up, there is some noted throttle response improvement with the M button off, so that is something and more burble on the overun, plus a nice improvement from the exhaust note on WOT. For 270quid from BMW (easy straight forward fit)in my opinion it's worth it. Gassing Station | Readers' Cars | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
