Just a quick update, 29,800 miles on the clock and the 1M has now doubled up as a family all-rounder with the addition of a new family member, so, now accommodating the back seat is a Recaro young profi+ baby carrier, and space in the boot for the Mountain-buggy terrain and a bag each for long weekends away.

Congratulations on the new addition! Your taste in baby carriers is equally as good as your taste in cars!
Thanks mate.

It has been some time since I last updated this thread. Still have the 1M which is now 5.5yrs and 40k on the clock.
Recently relocating out of London and slightly south into a more country like setting, I recently had the 1M for a freshen up while we moved and set up the new house, so it spent the past few weeks with my mate Lee at Crash Care Centre in Hitchin, having had many adventures during its 40k mile life, the front bumper, bonnet and side skirts needed some new paint and while doing so had the wheels re-sprayed, replaced the front and rear wheel arch liners and the under engine cover, also the front lower grill and the black plastics making up the lower air intakes. So a good clean up that should see it good for another 5 years. As having moved out of London and replacing the 15 min walk to work with a 55 mile round trip, we decided to give electric a go, I must say the little i3 is a great daily commuter, I have been well impressed now after 1200 miles, comfortable but plenty quick, a real easy drive in London traffic.

Without giving too much away, do you live somewhere in Kent sort of near Maidstone?

I (well the company I worked for) may have built your house hehe
Sounds about right, about 13 years ago they would have, bloody built in toilets and no access to service the underside of the system, had to cut through tiles and wood panel last Friday to replace a diaphragm, please pass that on, ah and the dodgy build of the rear decking, just removed and had it totally replaced, I will leave it there but there is more lol

I wont worry now we only did a small group of 5 or 6 houses in one corner of the whole estate about 5 years ago so it wasnt yours hehe
It is however one of the few new build estates I dont actually hate. Its a bit 'Desperate Housewives' but actually quite pleasant.
Ah they are the smaller builds across the road, nice through. We have been in now for 5 weeks and find it bloody quiet, to quiet in someways having moved out of the city. I really enjoy the space, especially the big garage, so much of it, actually I am struggling to get use to our house with 3 stories having come from a riverside apartment.

Good to see an update to this, probably the main reason I developed a real desire to own one of these cars back when you first started the thread. (I fell short, but do now own a 135i coupe) Shame so many of the old picture links are now broken.
Thanks mate, I have just recently seen that myself and checked out photobucket, they have changed their 3rd party upload hosting, now they want to charge an arm and a leg per year to do so, might have to look what else is now about and go back through the pics that I have up and replace them.

You can add ~original after the file extension (for example - photowebaddress.jpg~original) if you edit your posts, and they will appear again. This will likely be "fixed" by PB though if they catch on / enough people start doing it.
Thanks mate, I will give that a go....

I have been getting about setting up the 1M's new home

You did a nice job ... looks like a really cool new(ish) built estate which is right up my street! Could easily think they were abroad somewhere until you see the picture of it sh*tting it down laugh
Very New England style homes and the typical American big house plenty of space, the area is very modern and clean. Big change moving from London.
