Just watched Clarkson hoon about in your car on his new DVD.

Its looking stunning, watching the credits, it looks like they did some slo-mo work recording its 3 wheel characteristics. Did you manage to get any of the footage as its looks fantastic

64 minutes in if you buy the dvd but it's only about 10 seconds airtime.

That's a credit to you. My son used to have a lovely white one and my friend used to have one of these 20 years ago. Brings back some good memories.

I have just read this thread from start to finish and i applaud you

It brought me back to my youth when one of my best friends bought a White 1.6 GTi and proceeded to replace everything on the car as it wore out/broke except the body shell and windows, sadly he wrote it off around 10 years ago, however it loves on as a rally car now

He replaced it with a laser green one, now fully converted to mi16 and various other nice french bits, as a consequence of my friends initial 205 purchase many of us bought them too, and i really should have kept my 1.6

Anyways enough of my mumbling on, congratulations to you, the car looks absolutely terrific, just one question does the clock work?

I ask as out of 3 of our 205s only 1 worked, occasionally and it never managed to keep the time right, it would gradually run slow

Hahaha that's a bit extreme...do you need to get a room and a box of kleenex?

Guys n Girls I need your votes for the competition Peugeot is running for the winning car to take centre stage at Goodwood.....think you have to do it from a real web browser and not from a mobile device as it doesnt seem to work so well....

Gotta get past the 309 Rally car which is currently in the lead....So Pugly needs your votes so she can make us proud and take centre stage at Goodwood!!

Thanks...hoping the PH massive will bump me past the current leader smile

Whilst the 309 Rally car is cool and got some serious heritage I dont think its should be the leader of the Peugeot Pride 205 is iconic! LOL

I didn't really believe it either, but it bloody is. Also doesn't wobble!
The accuracy is easy to fix with some trial and error...just pop the needle off using two spoons, move it marginally and put back on then test against a tom tom....that is how I did mine.

Been a tinkering this weekend....

Got a set of brand new engine bay stickers so finally got round to fitting them....(and the tyre pressure one too for the door)

Oh and havent been happy with the fit of the front bumper....most wouldnt have noticed but this is what it looked like at 4pm yesterday!!

But she now looks like this got the gaps 90% perfect....its never going to be 100% as they never came out of the factory 100%!!!

Oh and I might have put my show plate on the front...drilled the holes and everything smile
Love to know where you got the stickers from ??????????????????????

Take the grill off, look at the brackets just below either headlamp.
Slacken fixings and re-adjust.

Time patients and being prepared to elongate some of the mount holes!.

Took me close to 3H to get the fit right on the front bumper on Pugly!

Bit of an update.... Wednesday saw the filming of Sundays episode of the new TopGear (Season 20)...last minute call to action for me by Peugeot UK and the BBC to supply the 205 for the show....she is only static in the studio but still going to be on national TV this Sunday

As a thank you the BBC gave me 2 VIP passes for the show filming food access pretty much everywhere no mixing with the riff raff either smile Only thing that did bother me is the amount of people in the audience that think its acceptable to lean or sit on the cars.....the lovely security girl did a great job and the 2nd half of the filming of the show I stood by the 205 just to keep an eye on it....bear in mind its mid prep for the WaxStock Showdown competition in week or so...I dont need and dents or scratches! (http://www.waxstock.com/)

Wont spoil any of the show for you but the 208GTI is up against the new Fiesta ST and Clio RS.....
