Look, if your going to post a st car, badly modified, on a public forum full of petrolheads, then proceed to defend it as aggressively as possible, then you could at least come up with some criticisms that are either readable or not the same "your just jealous" drivel that every knuckle-dragger comes out with when someone speaks ill of their pride and joy.

It's simple physics, man. My Dad in a Volvo V40 overtook a Ferrari 458 the other day. It was stopped at traffic lights. Doesn't mean that the Volvo V40 is good, just that at the time the Ferrari was going slower.

Anyone can 'come past an expensive £10,000 car' (£10k is expensive? Well for me sure, I'm but an apprentice...) or even a £150,000 car, when the physics is right.

Later on my Dad left that 458 for dust because it stayed at a totally reasonable 70mph on the A1(M) and we did about 72.

By your logic you should be lusting after a V40 right about now...

I thought the same.
I thought so too.

I fail to understand the hostility here.

So, the OP likes a Corsa - there's no crime in that. Sure, it's not everybody's idea of a great car but so what?

The OP has introduced himself in a decent manner and added a profile pic. Which is more than can be said for many others on here.

Not sure if troll.

Actually, I just looked a the spec list in the first post - says he is using a Peco exhaust. Definitely troll.

Used to have one of those. Good if not slightly rough engine. Fitted a new exhaust to mine, no cat or centre silencer, just 2 back boxes. Sounded awesome.

I hope that corsa should be able to come past a car that cost a tenner !

(btw, when taking the piss, it is advisable to check you haven't stuck in a full stop when you should have used a comma........... (or is that ,,,,,,,) ;-)

This thread leaves a bad taste...

He's a motoring enthusiast, he joined the UK's biggest motoring forum, he put some effort into his profile. So we rip the pish out of him, his car and his missus. That's classy, well done.

What's that? He isn't as well educated or rich as some of you? Oh, well then, carry on, drive him out.

True, true... It's a tricky one and no mistake.

Didn't someone on here have a white corsa in this shape that was actually awesome? Proper engine in it and really tastefully done? Can't remember the thread or posters name unfortunately, but it did actually look pretty good.

I might be wrong, that happened once back in 1998, but this guy just seems genuine enough to me. I'll admit to having taken the piss in the past myself but this thread feels like it was created by a PHer rather than a Barry. His car might not be to all tastes but I've generally found Pistonheads a very accepting place of all sorts of automobiles. Why not give the guy the benefit of the doubt?
