Scuse my Ford ignorance but I thought the small-turbo run-out models lost the whaletail and had to make do with a small boot spoiler instead?

Did many people opt for the rear wing deletion?

As I couldn't find a single example on Google Images to support my point, I thought I must have been imagining it! But I remember an article in Top Gear about the Cossie being killed off, where they had a red one without the rear wing. My 9-year-old self though that this was a silly idea... in 2012, my 25-year-old self agrees!

I cant explain how much i like the Escort Cossie, a car which in 1998 2 of my friends bought, same colours same spec but 1 with a spoiler and 1 without. Seeing these cars on a regular basis i think i was more attached to them then they were.
Huge potential, great handling, huge road presence and also great on a track
Lovely car dude

I always thought it was a daft option though, why delete a wing that took 200 hours to develop in a wind tunnel? And without it, the car looks a lot less 'rally bred' and a lot more 'standard Escort'.

I own one of those To be honest.. to drive I much prefer the turbo delivery on the escort. It feels much more special as opposed to a focus RS which felt a little like a normal focus with bolt ons. I'm aware of the FRS rally heritage etc but I wouldn't go back to one... Thinking about hanging the plate on the EsCos to *** LUX

Thinking about hanging the plate on the EsCos to *** LUX The escos has more in common with its rally car brother than the frs ever did & I agree about the power delivery the turbo hit in the cosworth is more noticeable even more so in the big turbo version, however performance wise it will take a very well sorted cossie to see what way a frs went My frs has the turbo hit with the hybrid turbo & 22 psi nothing like a bit of turbo lag to make a car feel faster than it actually is
