Just an update:

Loving the car still, getting used to the way it handles lots of confidence throwing it into the corners.

Did a quick MPG run filled up on Wednesday and filled up again today it turns out I am averaging 22mpg, I think I should maybe take the lead weights out of my trainers now, haha.

My excuse and justification for this is that I have been away for three weeks and I was just getting used to it again.

One question though, when the car was left for three weeks the engine seemed very sluggish and boggy for the first 50 or so miles any suggestions to why this is, the car is back to normal now though.

Thanks

Bump to see if anyone can answer the question without having to start a new topic.

Thanks

Hi,

don't know precisely what you mean, but once on my M that was left parked a couple of weeks I had an almost flat battery. Trying to start the engine it started but was running roughly, with 2500rpm idle and dodgy acceleration even in 4th gear. All solved after a few hours with the trickle charger.

Hope it helps

E

edited to say that maybe after 50 miles the engine re-charged the battery itself so for next time keep a charger handy or better, drive more frequently! wink

It seems to be a trait of this particular engine as my 130i (same engine) has the exact same thing until its been properly warmed again. My suspicion is that it's to do with the vanos but is certainly something that has worried me in the past as well. Does it feel like the car is hesitant even at high revs?
