A shape that will not age imo. See I think the exact opposite, I've driven one of these and liked it a lot but I think that shape of Audi already looks very dated.

Very nice, always liked these with a few subtle mods. No idea how you manage this with "as little as possible" employment, but I think I need to start doing the same!

Looks great fella! Shame you didn't come to the ///M side, but never mind! Friend at work's just picked one up, incidentally he justified his as a 19th birthday present as well! ETA - I think my mate's got a 'map on his, will ask him when I see him at work tomorrow!

Yeh it goes ok, doesn't feel as quick as the Volvo in a straightline but I think cross country the S3 would be quicker but the Volvo would certainly leave it for dead on a track with out a doubt.
Really enjoy driving it, been driving it as much as possible. It even gets the seal of approval from my Mother.

Yeah but Volvo had roughly 70hp more and probably not that much heavier.

Problem with ///M cars is that as much as I love my insurance they won't touch me on ///M cars or anything Japanese + turbo charged until I'm 21.....however they will insure me on an a facelift CLK55 AMG.... I think that may be the next addition.

Nice car, glad to see some more people my age getting proper cars. I did think about one for myself, but I wasn't too gone on the looks. Have you looked at getting the Haldex ECU Upgrade? I did a lot of looking at the TT and S3 before I got the 330i. Is meant to make a big difference to the handling, especially if your going to remap it.
Also may I just ask how you actually fund this car buying habit of yours?

Cheers, yes have heard a few things to do.... keeping it standard for the moment but will be having a little fiddle but nothing to in depth as my main concern is keeping it mint. Just bank loans etc I work in Poundland and KFC all the hours I can ......... I have a well paid apprencticeship (Electrotechnical/ Electronic design) and a burning passion for everything with an engine.

Just dropped the car off at a recommended Audi Specialist for : Cambelt Water pump Haldex Service and a different blow on the exhaust (pretty sure it's the Turbo - Manifold gasket)

looks clean for the year mate went through a stage of really liking these and almost going for a 225bhp model. The missus now has a late TT 225bhp and i`m sort of glad i never went for an S3 in the end only because the engine and the 4WD system gets to me a bit. its nippy but unless i`m revving the Bo$$*& out of it on boost not much seems to happen and im not sure whether thats down to the 4wd system they use or lag or a combination of both although it does stick to the road like glue whats your thoughts on the performance wacko?

These are good VFM but I hope you like it more than I did. I had a very rare 225 car that was in special order Misano red (RS4 colour), it had the Quattro GmbH suspension upgrade, Sunroof, Bose, Chrome mirrors, 18's, RNS-E and stuff. It was lovely to look at and sit in, but the performance was lacklustre and the handling was dire.
A remap should sort the performance and I understand the handling can be improved considerably with a strut change and a rear ARB upgrade.

I know what you mean about the lag, second gear at say 20mph and you floor it there's a near 2 seconds delay then you're off. It's feel like an NA engine from 3,000rpm onwards in my opinion in the way it revs and the way you have to work the gearbox. I adore being able to floor it in first gear from 5mph and it just grips and goes !
I find it ok to drive but it's sole purpose is to be quick-ish, comfortable and well made.... in that sense it doesn't disapoint me and my purchase criteria, If I want ultimate driving pleasure I've got the track car for that so no need for it to be pin sharp.... I can however see where you are coming from if that is what you're primarily looking for is a pin sharp hot hatch... it isn't a patch on an RS Clio for agility and driving reward but then again it is nicer to drive in every other sense when you're not caining it : Very quiet : Comfortable : great stereo etc
I'm really enjoying it so far, really suites my needs.

I have socks older than you. Just ordered a highly rec'd leather cleaning kit from eBay, been reading very good reviews about this kit so for a touch over £20 I thought I'd give it a go as cream leather does get abit grubby quite quickly. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/250644355692?ssPageName=...Picking the S3 up tomorrow evening from the Specialist, they found the rear ARB Bushes needed doing and another little blow on the 'zorst that was a suspected cracked manifold turned out to be a failed manifold - turbo gasket.

How are you finding the Haldex system?
I've never been wild about these S3's, though when I was on a course at work last year there was as lad at the driver training school with one in Nogaro blue with some nice wheels on it. I thought it looked fairly sharp!
