1995 Esprit S4S - My valentine
Discussion
Ah the Esprit S4S in Azure blue with OZ three piece split rims.Takes me back.
Such a great looking car from the wheels to that oh so stylish curved rear spoiler. The performance was great too when you really got that turbo spinning up.
Has to be a good 8-9 years ago since i sold mine.It was a very similar spec to yours apart from a crap blue leather interior which i still dislike to this day.I had some great times in it and a rapid run down to Le Mans 24hr one year but sadly the young lad i bought it from totally abused it and i ended up picking up the bill.I know i should have walked away but i was not much older than him (late twenties) and the car was the only one for sale in that colour with lowish miles so 19.5k later i was the new owner.
Eighteen months and 7k in repair bills later id had enough. From a snapped gearbox leg to a new clutch and front right bearing to name but a few repairs.I rang up Paul Matty who paid 17k cash as i recall which i thought was a good price IMO and they took the beast away.
I'm not saying they are all like that as again mine was very poorly looked after previously.I just thought id share my ownership experience with you.
Suffice to say i bought a stter and paid highly for it but wow what a great car regardless of that.
After that i went and bought a mint 355 which never missed a heartbeat and ran like a dream all the time i had it.Since then i have always bought as new and low mileage as i can afford and been fairly lucky.
Anyway your Esprit looks great and your doing a sterling job looking after it.Enjoy

Getting this fitted by SWL on saturday , bit of a hike from Fareham to Lifton, but who better to fit the part than the guys who make it
I did look at SS Manifolds but it appears that the jury is out on their longevity, also at £1400+ for an Alunox or €1200 from PUK (out of stock) the SWL at £560 is a no brainer in my book
