So my car history started at 15 when my father and me bought a 1979 mgb gt to keep us occupied and get me into car mechanics which im currently doin a apprentership in the trade.

So here my first car

A few mods which include sebring rear end and gt le front splitter still have it to this day.

2nd car a mg zs 1.8 120+ was my father but when he was made reduntent late in 2010 the car went into my name

Haven't done a hugh amount on it been in the family for 7 years now and haven't felt the need to sell does the motorway journeys in ease, massive boot and does 45mpg on runs can't go wrong paid 3.5k for it 05.

My third car as my father found a new job i had to get a new car and being 18 insurance was an issue, tried to insure everything from little fiesta not my style to saloon car then when browsing found a car that is also cheap on insurance.

So looked around waited about 2 months and finally bought this

Its a quantum mk1 or coupe 1 of 17 made this is number 9 it was built in 1988 based on a fiesta xr2 bought for £420 and insurance £735 result.

Now my new purchase a 1993 enuos mx5 1.8 for a tidy some of £420. The plan is to strip it, polybush it, some engine work but not everything will go back on and this should be considerable lighter than a standared mx5.

Here it is before the strip

As you can see my car in the background ready to be filled up with parts

And after 2 hours of work it now looks like this, all lights out some body panles removed most of the interior is out roof nearly out, wiper arms and motor out.

The end result should end up looking like this

Mev exocet lightweight build should be finished next year should come in at the 5k mark.

the MGZS looks nice. Got any more pictures of it? How did you find owning/driving it?

No. Not sure yet on colour yet either gold frame and black body lotus colours or white frame and blue body ford colours.

Hows your build coming along.

Haven't got any more pictures of it, i found it best on long runs around town is ok but the economy is rubbish. Very conftable and plenty of room im 6ft5 despite the stories of the k-series engine it's a good engine needs to be revved to get the most out of it. Would have another one but don't need a big car anymore.

Its going really good. Managed to bleed all the lines this morning and took it for its first shakedown drive. Lots of rattles as nothing has been fixed down yet but no major issues. Havent got much left to do but progress is going to slow down considerably as im back in work tomorrow and only get to come home every 2nd or 3rd weekend. I'm still planning on having it road legal for the summer though, fingers crossed.
