Lovely condition and I have a soft spot for this era too thumbup

I have the same digi dash in my Opel Monza GSE, which I bought as Shed of the Week on here about 5 years ago..

It's still being restored. They made great cars at this time and sadly few are left today so I'm sure it's value can only go up smile

Love it, kind of the signature colour for these as well.

Excellent. I remember them days. Great engine, that 2.0 16v lump. Many years ago I had one in a Nova and it was unburstable.

Where about in scotland did you buy it from?

The background in that pic looks familiar

Cheers

That looks like a really clean example, I like it. A friend of mine just got rid of his due to it being quite rotten underneath

Originals are 14"'s & were in fact called "hedge-finders".
Try getting a decent brand of V-rated tyres in 14's.furious
That & the GTE should always have had 195/50(or 55)/15's in the first place.
Virtually all the road tests for the 16v say the same thing - it's under-tyred.
Kadett Gsi 16v got 195/55s on 15s as an option over in Europe
I ran my 16v GTE on Cav Gsi 15" with 195/50s F1 GSD3s - big improvement over the 14s

From the advert when I went to see it up in Scotland late last year:

You see the 14 inch wheels ? So much nicer than the one's you fitted. I've got a set on my old mk3 cavalier, and it makes the car.

By the way, nice GTE, if nobody mentioned it already.

I am not a Vauxhall fan at all, and diont like 95% of what they have done over the years...but that GTE is very iconic and kinda quirky. Always loved the digital readout which was incredibly unusual on a mainstream car in those days. My Uncle had the Sri, in white, and he always wanted one of these back in the day..good work

Your GTE is in super condition. I haven't seen one for years. I like them, especially the instruments - they're marvellous!

Cracking looking motor this ( although I prefer the wheels that were on it when you bought it personally )

I had a g-plate 16v about 10 Years ago - it was mental.

Shame there's virtually none left now frown

Me too - we had a new Saxo VTS at the same time as the 16v and it would just drive away from the Saxo above 60 ish

Goodridge brake hoses, new brake fluid & new coolant being put in on Friday.
May well fit ebc discs & greenstuff pads all round as the braking doesn't seem quite as sharp as it should be.

Also due to have some welding done on the rear panel where there is at least a 1-inch square patch of rot.

Will probably use

Who seem pretty good. smile

Also a little update - managed to track down 2 new door surrounds to replace the faded & cracked originals.

So that's the interior just about sorted now.
