I am toying with the idea of one of these. I went from a Clio R27 F1 to a Lexus IS250 SE-L and whilst I love the charm and interior of the Lexus, it doesn't quite make me smile like the Clio.

Trying to justify buying one financially is where I come unstuck simply because of the MPG. Realistically in a morning traffic commute what can you expect, 22MPG approx?

I just bought the Lexus too so I would feel a tool letting go so soon but can't stop looking at the blue ones in classifieds!

The RS has a similar level of playfulness in its handling to the Clio (I used to own a 197 Cup and have extensively driven my Dad's old 200 Cup), but is vastly faster in a straight line. I'm amazed by the fuel economy so far: over a mix of every type of driving, mine has returned just under 30mpg. That is better than the Renaults!

I know! Despite the increase in power and weight over the ST, it somehow manages to be better on fuel. The best bit? Even when you turn the power up with Mountune et al the economy doesn't change. Good luck with the car tomorrow! What spec is it?

Really? So when are you planning to go for the mountune? The car I'm seeing tomorrow: http://www.ratherspecialvehicles.co.uk/ford-focus-...

Just a FW Standard which is round the corner from me.

Yeah, I'm 100% going for the Mountune - it's a no-brainer, really. There are other (cheaper) tuning options out there, but I think the fact the RS500 uses Mountune's MP350 kit is a testament to its quality and development. It also maintains the warranty. To be quite honest it's plenty fast enough with 300bhp, but 350bhp is even better! On top of this, Mountune now offer an MR375 kit with 375+bhp (the one I'm going for!). This does void the warranty, but Mountune provide their own and I would imagine the car is genuinely fast with it.

That white one looks nice and is at a very good price! It has Lux Pack 1, Bluetooth and part-leather, so is exactly the same spec as mine. Personally I wouldn't touch one without a Lux Pack, while the Bluetooth is useful and the part-leather seats much nicer than the standard ones. Lux Pack 2 is nice, but I think LP1 is better as you lose the DAB radio with LP2 and you don't really need a reversing camera in a Focus, while a TomTom is a better sat-nav!

Love it. Its the only car I've got lined up in the future to replace my Clio 182. Although it will be a while, still loads more to do in the 182 yet.

Love it, I'd like one of these in white. Think ford have done well with the mk2's in general. Crist knows what they were thinking with the mk3's though

I guess he means the ST. I don't mind it, to be honest, but feel that not making a 3-door is a bad move...

Excellent car, I am considering going for an 11-plate with 7K miles, green with Lux Pack 1, Bluetooth/USB and the dark seats. If I go for it I won't be able to collect it for various reasons for about 3 weeks and I am excited already and I haven't even physically seen the actual car yet!

I had a ride in one of these the other day that was putting out 425bhp. WOW! Didn't have any trouble putting the power down either aside from very slight wheel spin in 1st. I was very impressed!
