Had this one for about 6 months now, and done a fair amount of work to get it looking good.
1989 911 964 targa, Carrera 2. It actually belongs to my dad. He has always wanted one, so after a month or so of checking the classifieds we found this one. It needed some work, which was fine as it gave us something to do.
So far it has had a new (genuine porsche) offside front wing, due to a very small amount of corrosion on the original one, also had a front end respray as the paint was thin on the bonnet. Excellent match and along with a full mop of the paint, and its looking pretty much perfect body-wise!
The design 90 wheels were swapped over for the Cup alloys that came as an extra with the car. They were reconditioned and again are flawless now. The design 90s have been kept incase we ever want to change back!
I have fitted a new targa headlining as the old one was sagging and had a couple of thin spots on it.
And the car has just come back from a full top end engine rebuild to give us piece of mind as a head stud was on its way out. Its now just being run in and has about another 100 miles to go before an oil change.
I love driving it, it handles really nice and that 3.6 flat 6 sounds brilliant! The only thing I would have preferred is the manual box. Its an auto/tiptronic, which is fine as thats what my dad prefers. It actually drives very well with it and some fun can be had with the tiptronic mode, but just not as fun as the manual would be!
pics.
This is the day we got it, you can't really see the difference as I forgot to get photos of the areas that we addressed in the tidy up. never mind!
and how it looks now, after enjoying a bit of the sun yesterday!
things left to do... well not a huge amount. I think I will get some liquid leather on the seats at some point over the summer, they look nice still, but could benefit from a tidy up.
A new head unit has been fitted so the iPod can be connected. I just need to find some decent replacement speakers that will fit under the original covers now!

Its a lovely looking 911. Those wheels are much nicer than the design 90s, and make it look much newer than a G-plate!
Sorry, I disagree. It should be on Design 90 or Cup 1 wheels, those newer wheels just aren't right. I think they are Cup 2 or possibly early Boxster wheelsEdited by Serin on Tuesday 20th March 13:24

They are 964 cup alloys, just been refurbed.I like them, but I have kept the design 90s if I fancy a change or for resale....
cheers everyone.
New speakers fitted yesterday, some Pioneer ones that were a direct replacement and allowed me to use the original speaker grills that was a big result. However, only left side fronts seem to work so will have to dive into the electrics and figure out what is what.
Original speakers had totally disintergrated over the years!
