is this stanced that all the kids go on about.

I think that car is not too bad, there are a lot of old grumpies on here. Most cars that are standard looking and modified engines get a better recepetion.

At least you can only improve your taste.. smile

It's different

Don't listen to the haters, I cannot speak for them but when I was 19 (13 years ago frown) I was running around in a barried XR3i thinking I was the nuts, I obviosuly now know how daft it was but such is the folly of youth, enjoy it mate

2 pieces of advise though

If you get pulled regularly, don't blame the BiB just be polite and show them you are all legal, it will attract some attention not all of it what you want

Also, I wouldn't spend any more money on mods, not cos they aren't to peoples tastes or you get keyboard warriors having a go, but simply money, they charge the earth for mods as they know young'uns are a sucker for them, but you will NEVER make any money back on them, hopefully you have kept all the bits so you can return it to OEM when you are done

For instance with the modding thing, I see you have lowered it and other alloys, so lets say they are £300 a pop, selling it like that would maybe knock £500 off the price, so you are looking at a total hit of £800, which you could have put towards a new car

Not knocking just some advice I got when young which I should have listened too

It's not my cup of tea, but fair play to him if it's first car.

each to their own I guess...

What I cant understand, for a first car you buy a sensible 5 door hatch, then drop it on the floor so its impossible to carry anyone else in comfort?

your 18 so I guess you are not going for comfort but what other benefits does lowering a car to this extent offer?

fair play to you running that low on coilovers mate, a braver man than me,wouldn't dare to adjust mine that low smile

well im pretty sure its just a few of the blue rinse brigade that don`t get your car mate.As first cars go you done well smile
As i said its not to my taste but i can understand where you have gone with this.
Well done to you for also causing a stir wink
I get it I just don't like it.

Its an opinion.

I'm not saying he's an idiot or stupid I just don't like it.

If it was the 3 door in a different colour with different wheels and not so low I would like the look of it.

Take off the bra and IMO this looks pretty good.

Well i became a member and never went on this site, hence the 5 months.
Its my first car,im only 18,saving for a car since i was young.
and no its not air ride unfortunatly, its coilovers.
Thanks for your comments but im sure alot of ye had great first cars
Any other mods? Fair point, still it beats my 1st car.

I'm assuming you set the ride height that low just for the picture and don't actually drive around with it that low?

Oh, and this is PH so a quick proof read wouldn't go a miss wink welcome to PH.

I can't stand people with silly low cars.....

(but this is because i keep getting stuck behind some massive bell in a Lupo on my commute home that is so low that getting over a catseye would be too much. And the road we both take, yup, about 1.5 miles of speed bumps. These days i just overtake him before we get to the humps (seriously, he has to completely stop for each one, shuffly diagnonally over them, then drive away. After the 50th this gets somewhat tedious..............)

Back in topic, on a more subtle set of wheels and put back uptowards a sensible ride height i have a bit of a soft spot for the C4, quite a rakish thing in profile. Why citroen never released on like this:

to cash in one all those winning years in WRC i will never know??

I quite like that it looks better than the usual Audi A3 or mk4 golf does.

Look on the "bright" side...At least neons aren't fitted to modified cars anymore!

The "stance" scene is hugely more understated than the hidious bodykits, neons and sound systems of the 90s.

Whilst I think fully "slammed" cars are not practical in the slightest, they don't look too bad if done right, and with a little restraint and taste.

With different alloys (idk, something like rota RBs or something VAG esque) and about 20mm higher, OPs car could look fair.

Thanks to the lads with the nice comments. smile
Yes this is my first car,i had afew cars just for driving around the house and all,but i bought this just after turning 17 and worked hard to pay for it and get it to where it is now and its my daily driver, over and back to college every day and i do drive it that low,im not a fast driver!.
I also love low cars no matter what they are,its probally my age, and my girlfriend is always at me to let it up but i don't want to cause i think it looks well low.
The reason i got the c4 is that you see golfs and jetta's and all them sort of cars done up the whole time but i wanted to get something different.
You do see the odd 3dr c4 modified, hence i went for the 5door.
And im hopeing to change alloys often too,but college is really expensive frown

I actually quite like that! I think the blue on the wheels actually work very well with the colour of the car smile

Also, don't let the comments that say it looks crap stop you, everybody has different tastes, so of course your going to get them smile

And I agree, college is too expensive! Its not the actual course that's expensive, its more the getting there that is the problem, its £19 for me on the bus, and I only get it 2 days a week!

Not my thing, but doesn't loo that bad so live and let live I say.

I do have a question though... do the front wheels turn to full lock without fouling the arches?
