Hi All,

Not been on here for ages other than lurking having a read now and again

And a few photos of how my Clio 172 Cup currently stands!

Just waiting for a spot to have the car booked in for some live mapping to pull the engine upgrades together. Pre-Map the car ran as below at the Surrey Rolling Road a few weeks back.

The graph shows both a run when standard and a run pre map with my new inlet.

As the weather has been nice I Went on a mission to clean out some of my detailing gear today and found a nice new pack of 3m 2000 wet and dry, so as my lights had seen better days, I thought I would have a go.

Lights at the start both pretty tatty:

So all taped up on with a splash of water and sand away:

Soon got bored so came up with a cunning plan:

Take one old pad, cut out wet and dry, double up some gaffer tape, slap wet and dry on pad and then on to the DAS = win!

Sand away and end up with:

On to the polishing stage:

In action:

Finish polishing up and the result:

Shiny! But in need of a touch of protection so:

One coat if AF TC and then two of the FK.

Mmmm beading:

I had no idea how messy this job was:

Whole front end is white with wet sanding residue and polish, ah well a job for tomorrow!

I would say I managed about 90 - 95% correction so will probably buzz them over again in the summer, but it's amazing what a difference a nice clean set of lights makes to the front end!

Pretty Much (Although it has a Exhaust and De-Cat)

Rolling road was carried out at Surrey Rolling Road before and after, I'm led t believe that SRR is one of the more respected in the South.

Its a little more than 'just and inlet' http://www.stone-automotive.com/index.php/clio-rs-...

Mapping is yet to be carried out to bring it all together.

Very nice! Funnily enough I was wondering only yesterday what Turinis would look like on my (non-cup) 172 scratchchin

Mine is completely standard but they really are great cars. Good effort with your headlights, another job for me to add to the list biggrin

btw what suspension are you running? Ride height looks a little lower than normal.

The front plate is 3/4 size and I had a fat finger moment when ordering the plates and forgot the space frown

Thanks smile

My only experience of coilovers was on an Evo 6 with a shockingly hard ride. Do they firm up the Clio a lot or is it all down to the setup?

The KW V2's are both height and damping adjustable. I have mine set fairly stiff so it can be a bit bumpy, but all is forgiven on a nice sunny day and a clear B road.

I could fiddle with the damping and make the ride not far off standard if I chose. Coilovers in my opinion are very much an item thats governed by cost, they old saying you get what you pay for.

Mines one of 33 made in Iceberg. It's also got. Climate control for those rare sunny days, yes it adds a small amount of weight and saps a small amount of power, but it's worth it in the summer.
