Hi all, New to these forums after being recommended by a work colleague, want to say from the off I'm spent the last couple of days glued to it such a great community here. Just recently got my new car, an 05 2.0l Audi with the Sline pack and really enjoying it. Its difficult not to starting running a list of 'What am I going to buy it', however as my colleague stated "Don't remap or enhance until you've had a chance to enjoy it for what it is, otherwise you'll never notice the difference". Seems sound advice. My car history has been pretty light on the ground considering I've had a license for 9 years First car was.. 1.3 Peugeot 309 Then swiftly moved onto a 1.6 16v Astra Sport After the Astra had an altercation with a 3 series a few years passed until finally I picked up a 1.9 Xsara It however came with endless problems namely accelerating by itself, cutting out and requiring jump starts and crunching gear changes to the point I lost patience and had it crushed. A long 5 years passed and finally I got back into driving with the Audi Cheers for reading and I look forward to gassing with you all Regards Ryan

Welcome to PH!
Looks like a lovely car, enjoy it. Just dont mention "S-Line" too often round these parts. It tends to go down badly. Have a look at the current "Audi Drivers" thread and you'll get the idea!

Welcome to Pistonheads. I like the Audi and I bet it feels in a different league compared to previous motors and also a good feeling to get behind the wheel again.. Enjoy!

Cheers guys, its a beautiful drive and whilst the Astra, Xsara and Peugeot all had their moments this is the step up I wanted Now to just try and avoid becomming your 'typical' Audi driver

I wouldnt worry too much. Having it in that blue set apart from the usual "company car" crowd who tend to be the "tpical" Audi driver! You'll soon find people doing double takes when they come across a courteous Audi driver flashing them in, it never ceases to amuse me.

Ignore the harbingers of nonsense around here and you'll do fine; A4 looks very smart with the 9 spokes on. Which engine?
Incidentally my current company car is a silver Audi, stick that in your pipe and smoke it, keyboard warriors!

Very smart looking car mate, like it as said above its a slight step up from the likes of the pug and the xsara! Also, I have no idea why 'S-Line' would cause issues so I wouldn't worry about it! Adds a few nice little touches IMO...

Remaps are happening but as 200bhp is such a jump for me it makes sense to enjoy it as standard whilst it still has that "Wow" feeling and then 3/4 months down the line when I've got used to it, to do the stage 1 up to 250bhp.
Remember as well that as I've not had a car for a while I have no No-claims so any performance tuning will start to push the premiums up (Its £1000 at the moment)
Excited to see what I can do though and more than happy for advice. What I really need to do is lock down a trusted Mechanic/garage to do Servicing and tuning etc.

Screw waiting...just remap it now and enjoy. Or in 4 months time you'll be thinking "why did I wait so long??!!". Honestly the 2.0TFSi engine responds so well to a Stage 1 Map it becomes a completely different beast, pretty much what it should have been leaving the factory. My current car is the second 2.0TSi i've owned and re-mapped. The first one I waited a few months to do then when I got this I did it the same day

VeryRS do you mind sharing where you got yours remapped? Lots of choices and you've obviously driven their remaps in to no ill effect
