Well my posts are increasing as more is happening but still not finished..

Got the rest of the painted parts last night...

Spent a couple of hours at the shed and managed to get one of the front wings on..

Today I got a large delivery...

And this is what was inside..

Anyway I will hopefully have more to offer after the weekend..

Great thread OP and keep up the good work wink

When I rebuilt my 109 the size of the task in the beginning seems immense and sometimes unachievable but, like you, you nibble away at each small section and in the end you will get a complete and finished vehicle....though mine is still not 'finished' IMHO. But are they ever?

Marlin45 - Trigger looks a decent but of kit!.. I still have to sort my old Series at some point!.

Well I spent a couple of hours at the shed on Thursday night and have been there this afternoon so there has been a little further progress..

I managed to get the other wing and front grill panel on..

Got the front bumper on..

And the windscreen in place...

I also managed to get the rear lights back in. They are yet to wire in but thats for another day..

I glued a couple of my fresh bits of carpet in place and secured the rear foot plate back in place.

I managed to get the rear quarter panels back on and thats where I finished today...

Ill be at the shed tomorrow afternoon and Sunday so hopefully I will manage to make some more progress... Ill keep you posted!

Blimey it's beginning to look like my one!

I bought some headlamp guards for my one the other day but cannot bring myself to drill the holes to fit them. I know my skill level!

I am loving this thread. Making me pine for the 1972 109inch SIIa that I got as my first car because my Dad reckoned it couldn't go quick enough to kill me and was tough enough to come out best in most arguments.

If only I had the had a shed like yours to use I would love to have a go at a ground up rebuild like this.

This is brilliant! It's going to be superb when it's done.

I wish I has a barn like that to work in (or even a garage) frown

Thanks again for the nice comments guys.. I am fortunate to have found a suitable shed to do my work in but as with most things in life its not free!

I was at the shed again Saturday afternoon and Sunday and managed to get a bit done.. Not as much as I would have liked however productivity drops on a Sunday due to too much alcohol on a Saturday night!

The biggest job of the weekend was that I managed to get the roof back on..

Whilst I was on subject of the roof I put my alpine windows back in...

I managed to get the NS sill back on...

And the NSR wheel arch extension spat in place.. The wheel arches certainly help to start to make it look more like a Defender.

I also put a new rear end door seal on..

Again not as much happened as I would have liked... Its the same old story.. I set out with grand plans to get lots done and it doesnt seem to materialise.. I could really do with a week off work to crack on and get it finished but I dont want to use up all my holiday allowance as I am due some sun!

Well a bit of an update on progres...

This week's work has consisted of firstly, putting the rear end windows in...

Carpeting the seatbox...

Once the seatbox was carpeted I put the front seats and cubby box in place...

I Installed my rear quarter windows and I got the OS sill and rear arch liner in place...

I put all my new door seals on..

And I put the headlining back in...

I started to carpet the boot area and managed to do both sides...

Once the carpeting had been done I did a few smaller less photogenic jobs such as fitting the front driver and passenger footwells. I then began to put the interior trim back in...

Thats about where I am at the moment.. The end is in sight but lots of small jobs which are taking more time than expected.

Yep the seats were done by a lady called Sam who seems to specialise in Land Rover seats.. She trades as Sam's Trim Ltd I think. If you pop that into google you should find her.

Been watching this thread from the start and really does look a lot different from when it started out.

My I ask if this is a keeper or do you do this to pass the time and will sell on?

just out of interest really as it's something that I would like to do. But at the moment it's taken me 8 years to restore my 82 minivan!!!
