My first car - "Like a Golf, Not a Golf, but a Hatchback"
Discussion
Small update.
5.5k miles completed in 9 months which is not bad considering i dont use my car for work. Good trip to the Evo Triangle and surrounding roads today any excuse to get that little Italian 4 pot singing. Very happy with the car, decent economy and has so far been pretty much painless to own, only expenses being a new bonnet cable and front driveshaft oil seals however the next 2 months look to change that; Road Tax, Service, MOT and Insurance oh and some Toyo T1R's Bring on the summer !
No plans to change, if all goes well Summer 2014 should see an E36 M3 in the stable. Fingers are defiantly crossed

It changes daily - no doubt check the other thread to see what is on my mind. I will see what is avaliable at the time. What draws you to the E36 over an E46?!
I have never been a huge fan of the E46, always preferred the E36. I think it is because it looks understated yet knowone would know your N reg 3 series has 316 bhp or 282 if you opt for the 3.0 model. It is a shame that there are not many good examples left now so i want one to keep before they all die out. I always remember seeing a Violet E36 M3 in a BMW showroom in 1998 and it looked the business. The 46 is probably the better all rounder but it just doesn't really do anything for me, passengered in a couple of 46 M3's and there is no denying they are quick but i dont love it anywhere near as much as the 36. The E90 is my least faveourite, i have such a hatred passion for that car on so many levels. Nope i would do anything for a mint E36 M3, the sound, the looks, the 90's ness, Sunflower wheels which are the coolest ever. That and an NSX, my life would be complete. okie592 said:
Always liked puntos! Fiats in general are really nice, what I find odd is this is 6 speed but my stilo is only 5. And it badly needs the 6th!
Yes the 6th Gear is really useful especially for motorway driving. 65 mph and only 2800 rpm whereas in 5th it would be circa 3500 rpm. Oddly of the Mk2 Punto's, only my car the 1.4 16V Sporting is fitted with a 6 speed 'box.Palmball said:
Nice car there Adam...glad all is going well for you . Your first was always destined to be an Italian car....I know these well as one of my ex's had 2 of them in a row.
Good pictures too...shame that passing your test didn't involve learning to park though
Long time no speak how is that Big SLK treating you these days Good pictures too...shame that passing your test didn't involve learning to park though

Big SLK....I wasn't aware I was driving a convertible??
It's better than that Maserati I had, thats for sure. In fact, everything I've had since my last Italian car was better than that!
I thought your SLS was a conny, my mistake. It's better than that Maserati I had, thats for sure. In fact, everything I've had since my last Italian car was better than that!
As for your second point i completely disagree, my least fave was the Blue XK with Black wheels.
Maser was the best sounding car though by a country mile

Anyway, how you enjoying the Sporting.....I bet you're poncing about with your City mode on aren't you
City mode, use it all the time i think i have only used it once and that was due to some d!ck parking too close at Sainsbury's; i am rather enjoying the Punto, 95bhp isn't bad for a first car but roundabouts in the wet = lift off oversteer In an ideal world i would like to upgrade the suspension set up but i then think there isn't much point as it will not stay with me forever. Hoping to get something more "sporty" next year which will be a weekend car and then swap the Punto for something else at a later date (end of 2014) sub 4.5k and fun (Cooper S, Fiesta ST etc....)
