Havent got much to say about it at the moment - the O/H mentioned last night she would quite like the idea of having a Mini and id been thinking of changing our run-around for a while. I got up this morning, followed her to work (discretely) and 'stole' her old car out of her parking space at work. Drove it 50km up to a dealer near Eindhoven and did a straight swap for our 2009 Pug 206+. Just managed to get the Mini back in to her space at work and bugger off before she saw me So, its a Mini ONE Salt, 2003 with 180k kms (120k ish miles). Brand new 17s with new tyres all-round, brand new g'box, PAS seems fine, very good all round condition both inside and out, the interior is almost unmarked TBH. Brakes, cluth, rad etc etc all seem good, it really drives very nicely indeed. I wont tell you how much I paid, because it would make you laugh and me cry compared to UK prices But it was a straight swap for our old car, which made it easy. Will post more as I learn more! Its a MINI adventure!

Cool that sounds like a fair price for not having the hassle of selling privately! I know cars are very expensive in Holland, my FIL imported his rover 75 when he moved out there and the locals thought he was driving a big, posh, luxury car!

Loving your work at swapping the car out without her knowing. I hope this is cheaper to maintain than your other car.

Can't see the pics (over bandwidth limit) but I'm sure it's lovely The engine is identical to the Cooper other than the map so a simple plug-in remap will see 120-130bhp instead of the 90 it has as standard if you fancy it. Used car prices in Europe are totally crazy compared to the UK, an 03 Mini with over 100k miles would struggle to clear £3.5k here. This is just down the road from me, and I'm tempted because it looks cheap for a left hooker, they always have a few LHD cars there and I'm sure I could do OK buying them up and shipping the over to France/Holland/Belgium given the prices charged by the Peugeot dealer near our place in Normandy! http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2012...

Are the pictures still down? They are working for me - stupid Photobucket!
A 'Cooper' level remap is on the cards, will run it for a month or so first to shake it down.

Pics are still down, they'll be cached in your browser history but to new visitors they just show a message from Photobucket saying you're over bandwidth.

How did your wife get home when she couldn't find the car she arrived in?
Must have been a great surprise!

Must have been a great surprise! I was waiting around the corner with the keys. There was a bit of a tear (eventually) when she realised her Pug had gone! First car sentiments and all that.
